We went to San Antonio last year and loved it

The Alamo and the missions were so interesting

We also drove up to Frederisckburg in the Hill Country which is a sweet little town and the base of the most amazing Museum of the pacific war one of the best museums I have ever been to outside of the smithsonian
We are doing a day trip from Fort worth to Dallas on the train ...following on from CrispyA's trip report!

Ooh it sounds like you have had a great time in San Antonio, we are really looking forward to our time there. Austin’s looks brilliant too.

Thank you for the tip regarding the Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, I’m not sure we will fit it in on this trip but it will definitely feature on our hopefully longer Texas trip in the future! Your Fort Worth to Dallas day trip sounds awesome, I look forward to reading your report. Thank you so much for reading and commenting

too funny! I wish I was fabulously wealthy, unfortunately I am just a holiday addict who researches flights/accommodation religiously to ensure I can have a trip every year. This is an extraordinary year for us and I am thankful to Delta for our free flights and also our points flights with Virgin - maybe I should call it the year of the Unicorn

I completely agree with your family, your special skill is booking holidays! They are so lucky to be able to benefit from your amazingness So exciting that you have booked accommodation for Niagara and also the hornblower cruise.

Ooh MNSSHP talks, I hope it all turned out exactly as you had hoped. life is too short and I feel like we only ever regret the things we don’t do

Thanks for the tips 😀

Ooohhh that’s exciting- I would love to hear what you have planned and where you are going to. Our trip is a fairly short one with the hope of a longer one in the future! Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

I cannot wait, I also want to spend a couple of days at corpus Christie. I’m still reading up on it really.
Working out where to go & what to see so your thread is really helpful, thanks

Well I hope I can be helpful I have a rough idea of our plans but we are fairly easy going (not me just DH and DS) and we like to be flexible. I have a habit of trying to fit as much in as humanly possible however we are now traveling with a tween who likes to sleep and ‘chill’. I may have to give him chocolate and cola products to keep him moving I look forward to hearing more about your plans

Another Dibber recommended Rainey Street as being a great location for food and entertainment and it is only around the corner from the Driscoll.

A more in depth road trip sounds brilliant- I already know that this trip is really just a prelude for a bigger trip in the future. It appears that there is some great free entertainment like fireworks and music for the 4th July so we are all excited for that!

I honestly think we are going to have to fit the sightseeing around our eating and snacking
That’s great to hear about the 4th July entertainment, makes me want to go at that time even more!

All my holidays revolve around eating so I know exactly what you mean 😂

We've just started watching it again with the kids. Love the lone star state, even though I've never been there I can't wait to read all about your holdiay plans. Oh and it's even better that it's a freebie holiday from Delta I'm sure you will be able to eat a lot of BBQ.

By the way the other place we're both keen to go to is Hawaii so if you could fit that in so I could get some tips thst would be really rather helpful or maybe some tips for Australia as Dave said may be that should be somewhere we head to before Max leaves home we've only got a couple more years of family holidays as he's doing GCSEs this summer. So I suspect Australia won't happen while he's still at home.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling on this trip sounds fab and I can't wait to hear about it all.
How funny Abby, Jim and I have had the exact same conversations whilst watching Friday Night Lights 😂. I just love Coach’s wife, Tammy! It was after watching that made us really think about a holiday to Texas.

We too are desperate to go to Hawaii, we were thinking about getting married there but realised it would be too expensive for everyone to get there which I thought was a bonus, I quite like the thought of it being the 4 of us 😉

Apologies Michelle for going off on a tangent 😳
