Front of Line Pass
My wife, daughter and myself are planning to go to WDW and take my Mum who will need a wheelchair to get around the parks.
Can anyone help by letting me know the situation regarding bypassing the queues and going straight to the front of the line when with somebody in a wheelchair? For instance, as there will be 3 of us with my Mum can we all go to the front of the line? Thanks for your help. |

Just wanted to add that the GAC doesn't necessarily mean you get to go straight to the front of the line. That's not the idea of it.

We used a wheel chair for Mil last time - there are often separate lines or different access points for wheelchair users, but we didn't get front of line access at all that I remember - just ways of getting into/onto rides/attractions that were easier for her to negociate - definately made life easier
Just wondering if you have requested wheelchair assistance at the airport? We did this and it made a huge difference - we flew into Chicago then onto MCO - like MCO, Chicago is huge, and it would have been nigh impossible for Mil to manage without the help we got On that occasion, the lady who assisted us, did whisk us to the front of virtually every line, and was incredibly helpful in removing the stress for not only Mil - who was exhausted and very overwhelmed - but for us too, as we were a little concerned about her. Front of the line access is restricted to kids on GKTW and MAW trips. Most of the queue areas are wheelchair accessible and not to be missed as a lot of the themeing is there which you would miss out on if you bypassed the line.
At the rides which have alternate entrances for wheelchairs your party will be able to stay together. Your best bet is to use fastpass and plan to ride at times when the lines are shorter, although it is easier to wait when you are sitting in a wheelchair than standing |

As Lynn says most of the lines are wheelchair accessible and you won't be able to skip to the front just because one of your party is in a wheelchair. On rides where the line is not accessible you will be taken to a different area to wait but again you won't get on immediately and there is often quite a wait - especially if there is another family with a wheelchair waiting in front of you.
Your best bet would be to get to the parks early when you can ride most things without a wait and then make good use of fastpasses. Depending on what time of year you go your mum might not be up for the heat during the day so early mornings might suit her better

If you do Thunder Mountain be prepared to go round twice, we done it last time, the train comes back into a different station to get off the ride.
My husband had left his crutches with the wheelchair so he couldn't walk, we had to go around a 2nd time to come back to the station that we had left the wheelchair at. |
