Tip 4: Find a piece of technology in the home, find out how to use it, and throw away the manual, and don't let the kids operate it. I won't let them touch my new Virgin TiVo box - have to keep some power back... I don't get a look in on the Wii, PS3, DSi's, kindles, laptops etc etc...don't want to become obsolete... once they learn to cook, drive and earn money thats it!

good advice on buying a few smaller sd cards instead of 1 or 2 bigger ones

probably not so good advice in throing out the manuel for new technology cos the tech things i tend to buy are usually for the kids and what kids need manuels these days hahaha

Jessops do a multicard reader that will let you put any memory card into your laptop via a USB port. They're about £12 - £15 and not that big. As well as being very versatile (works with most memory cards) it doesn't use up your camera battery charge and the transfer to laptop is much quicker.
