Canon lens for Florida

Hi.

I have a Canon 60D with an 18-55 lens.

This was taken at full zoom in Eurodisney.

I am after recommendations for a lens that will allow me to zoom into the faces to get a clearer picture.

(Excuse me i'm a noob when it comes to this).

Budget is around £300

I have a 60D and have the Canon 70-300 IS for long shots.

Its a good enough lens - but you will need to watch the light levels as when you shoot at full zoom your aperture will automatically increase. It works best in bright conditions. You will need to pay BIG money for a long reach zoom with a low f number. The image Stablisation on the 70-300 does help a bit on gloomier days but it wont be much good in low light.

I also have the 60D and when traveling I always take my Tamron 18-270mm - It's a perfect travel lens due to it's range.

You can check out my shots on flickr.com/p17blo if you want samples.

After my last holiday, where I took 2 lenses, and always found I was using the wrong one, I would also recommend an 18-200 lens (or 18-270 depending on budget) I hope to get one before my next trip. I think when you are on holiday, you just need to do what you can to make life easier, and changing lenses is a hassle.

eg. I would put the zoom lens on for a great long shot, then one of the kids would run up, great smile on their face and I would miss it because I was too close to use my zoom lens.
