I think someone has posted something in the current issues forum about Italy and mentioned Venice. Don’t know why but that forum gets more trip planning threads than this one ... that’s dedicated to general trip planning.

It’s a minefield for missing stuff as the posts move so quickly.

I just read a thread about someone just came back from Rome and said it was very quiet. Another poster on there said they’d been to Venice and that was the same. It all sounded very positive. I hope you have a good time xx

We will be back Tuesday so hoping quarantine stays away,
Infact more likely not being let out rather than let back in with our rate at the moment

I tend to stay off that one these days as I cannot be coping with it all

I posted on the other forum. We went for a night at the end of our lake Garda holiday (got back beginning of September). We’d never been before. It was beautiful, quiet, and we’d go again for sure. We arrived lunchtime, and literally had 24 hours. We walked loads, visited Rialto bridge, bell tower, st marks basillica, st marks square, gondola ride. I thought it was a great time to do the gondola, as the canals were really quiet. In the photos I’ve seen they are usually rammed with boats, but a lot of the way we were the only one! You’ll love it. We will go back for a proper break one day. I’ve heard murano is worth a trip.

Don’t want to sidetrack the thread but both Murano and Burano are definitely worth visiting. We went to both in one day via the Vaporettos. We spent 6 days in Venice two years ago and would definitely return if we get the chance

I went last month to buy some Benson and Hedges after my usual haunt Luxembourg appeared on the FCO "naughty list".

It seemed fairly busy to me, very hot and humid.

However I avoided most of the "touristy locations" in my search for stock.

The vaparettos were rammed when I used them. The Airport was like a dead zone with hardly anything open.
