August 2022

Hi all,

After a lot of going back and forward we have decided to do the end of August 2022 into the beginning of September

We are thinking of doing 3 weeks from the 15th August to the 5th September with 14 days of parks from the 17th or 18th

Is this an okay time to go? We have only been over the Xmas period before

We wouldn't normally do 3 weeks but as we are not away this year we thought why not!

We will be there more or less the same time, doing Cabana bay from the 16th Aug till the 19th and then into a Villa for the next 2 weeks.

Done the end of August before and also from the first week in Sep, if youve only done crimbo before then be prepared for the heat and the usual mid afternoon downpours, it is a nice time to go and as the American schools have started to go back it can be a little bit quieter.

will be doing 4 weeks next August. Weather can get very hot and humid, constantly soaked through, with often a few wet thunderstorms late afternoon. Parks can very daily on crowds, but quieter towards the end of th month, as the usa kids back in school.
not doing the parks this august if we get there! due to the unknown of masks. hopping ad full show and fireworks progra, to xpensive not to get full benefit

We are planning a similar time to you, 🤞for 4 weeks from the 5th August to the 3rd Sept.
We've done June, October, Feb and August, over the years. August has been our favourite. We tend to do all the parks, and find that as a pp has said that the second half of August is quieter as American schools have started to go back.
The weather is hot. But we actually prefer it to the other times of year. It does get wet, so remember ponchos (so worth the money in August) but the rain is generally over and done pretty quickly.
Also remember that it's heading to hurricane season around then. Last time we were out there in august 2019 we got delayed coming home due to the hurricane hitting and ended up with an extra 4 days in Orlando. The hurricane didn't hit as bad as they thought it would but it was a little concerning in the run up to it. But in the end we actually gained 4 extra holiday days and it wasn't as bad as had been expected, so you just never know.
Like you, after the year that's just been we've upped our time out there (usually do 3 weeks) and planning a big holiday, it is also my 40th (and husbands 40th in April) whilst we'll be out there so want to make it extra special. So doing Disney and universal, with hotel stays at both hopefully, a week in a villa for some down time and a cruise around the Caribbean to finish.
Just keeping all crossed that things will be a little bit more normal by then, but we'll have to see what this year brings eh.
Enjoy your planning, as think it makes this time a little more bareable to have something to look forward to.
😊
