No - food is over priced, and poor compared to the US ones. If you want to try it here's a 20% off voucher which will lessen the damage.

The Hard Rock Cafe is recommended though.

For excellent value I recommend Le Pont de la Tour, by Tower Bridge, where you can book a 3-course lunch or dinner including a glass of champagne (you can drink the glass of any of your kids) for £25 +service. This was the restaurant which Blair took Clinton to, when he visited the UK whilst US President. It's top notch.

We are off to London on Friday for a couple of nights and I'm really keen to do the London Eye. Is it worth the money, anyone been on it?

I can't figure out which is the most economical way for us to travel around while we're there and I'm finding it all very confusing!

I don't have these problems when I'm organising Orlando trips

There will be the 3 of us and ds is 12 and we're there from Monday - Thursday. I've seen the £1 rate for ds if we have travelcards - but is this the best way to go?

Thanks in advance
If you get a pay as you go Oyster card for each member then you are charged less per journey and can top it up anytime. They make a £3 charge for starting a card but once it is started it you can always use it. It will keep its credit until you come next time. The card will top out at the cost of a one day travel card.

The site above is your best bet.

Go to TfL.gov.uk

Oystercards are the cheapest way to travel around London - they will always be cheaper than using paper tickets. However, you will have to pay £3 deposit for each card - refundable at the end of your stay if you don't intend to use them in the future. And yes if you have the adult card your son travels for £1 per day. Note that you will only get the cheapest travel after 9:30 a.m. on weekdays and any time at weekends or Bank Holidays.

I work for London Underground so if I can be of any further help just PM me.

just a little plug for the National Portrait Gallery
have been up in London all week this week as DS at Pineapple dance studios, and spent a few enjoyable hours there this week.
I hadn't been since I was a student in the 80's.

also the Jazz cafe in Foyle's book store was pleasant too ... great latte and great ambience

Many thanks for the info. One question, as I haven't applied already for a Oyster photocard for my son - will he just use an adult one like us?
