Thomson 'Free' Car Hire

Hi,

Am looking to book via thomson and dont want to take their 'free' car hire but no-where on the site can i decline it.

Does anyone know If i 'book' it and then don't pick it up, will I be charged?

Many thanks

I have booked with Thomas Cook and have a Complimentary car hire with them, I rang yesterday to ask about the insurance, the car is economy and the insurance is £176.00, i asked if i have to have the car and if i don't will i have to pay anything, they said no you don't and will not be charged. I have looked at other car hire and for a better grade of car and Gold insurance it is a lot cheaper. So will be booking my own.

Loads of people on here never pick the car up but book independently and get a better deal
Never heard of anyone being charged for a non pick up

When you go through the booking procedure later after you have put all your details in there will be an option for 1. hire car. 2. bus transfer 3. Make your own way. This then removes it. The car is free, but the Collision Damage Waiver insurance is not.

Try Alamo Brits. Prices have shot up for car hire in 2012 we paid £600 for 3 weeks. I am struggling to get it under £900 this time so not bothering with a car.
