Universal - 2 parks in a day, is it feasible
We are going in Sept 2019 so 'off peak' so to speak. Staying in Disney resort and wouldn't be going to Universal if it weren't for Harry Potter world.
Want to do all of Harry Potter and maybe a couple of other rides (a selection of the following time dependant - ET, Minions, Spiderman, Mummy, Transformers, Terminator) Plan to get there for rope drop and can stay til park close (no kids to worry about just 2 adults!). Will I need to fork out extra for an Express Pass or is above do-able without?

If Harry Potter is the focus with other rides being a bonus then yes it is totally doable.
First thing and last thing will be quieter so as long as you use these periods well then you should get on a good selection of other rides. Minions always has long queues so maybe do this either first or last to try and minimize the wait. Terminator shut so you can discount that. Mummy has a single rider as does Transformers and Spider-Man I think so you can make use of those if queues are long. I would also throw in Men in Black as I love that ride - it also has single rider. Enjoy your visit. |

As long as you don't expect to do everything (or even most things) then, yes, it's doable. You should be able to do Diagon Alley in a couple of hours or so, Hogsmeade also in a couple of hours, plus the Hogwarts Express. That leaves about half a day to do a select number of other rides.
Personally, I'd skip Minions because of the stupidly long queue (unless you're lucky). And, unfortunately, Terminator 3-D closed last year so you can't do that one. The rest of the rides you list should be doable in the remaining time you have.

Yes it is. We were there in on Memorial Day in May and got round both parks in a day. Lyft dropped us off at 9am and we were picked up at 9pm. We only missed Minions and Shrek but managed every other ride including Hogwarts Express both directions. Keep an eye on the wait times. While in Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Journey wait time was 105 mins. We took the Hogwarts Express over to the other park and did a few rides around there and checked an hour or so later and FJ wait time was 20 mins. Back on Hogwarts Express and on FJ with a 15 min wait. Longest wait on any ride was about 25 mins. Good luck!

It can be done without express if you're not wanting to do everything, but it'll be a long day. I personally would never rush it - the more time you take to explore the more you'll enjoy your visit.
Get there 30 mins+ before park opening and go straight to Minions and then head to the back of the park for Diagon Alley.

Went in June and did two parks in one day, bought the express pass but there were a lot of rides we didn't need it for. Went on lots, didn't go on simpsons, hulk and rip ride rocket, went on everything else. The express passes were worth it for the Harry potter rides as these had the longest wait times and we went on twice.
