Cigarette lighter in car

Hi does anyone no if hire cars have cigarette lighters that you can plug in a Tom tom charger into?

Yes, every car we have hired has a cigarette lighter that we use for sat nav.

Not had a car without one yet and we hire a car 3 times a year in Florida.

Most cars I have rented recently have a 12v outlet... usually no lighter in them these days! Just a cover to stop dust getting into the socket.

Mine doesn't, but it does have USB ports in six different places.

We had a car with the fuse removed for the cigarette lighter. Quick trip to Pepboys sorted that out.

Last few cars we have hired have had three, one in the dash, one in the rear cabin and one in the trunk.

i nearly got a car that didnt have one a few years ago, cant remember what it was, but as soon as i realised there werent any, i got out and went for a different car!

chances are the car you choose will have one, but always double check before you drive off

I got in a Mustang recently and was like Fu... where the heck is the cigarette lighter. I had a battery backup anyway so used that on the 4 hour journey up to Orlando, then discovered the cigarette lighter several days later in a compartment in-between the two seats tucked away
