The last time we went was four of us and a tighter budget so we stayed out in NJ at a residence Inn (two bedroom unit, lounge, even had a fire and full kitchen and two bathrooms for half the price of a Manhattan double) and caught the public bus from right outside to Manhattan (20 mins even in the snow and ran til well past midnight) even though it was a trip to shop and do Broadway shows it worked incredibly well.
Thanks - as I said above I wouldn't ever choose to stay on or close to Times Square. It's OK for a first visit but after that - not so much.

But, as it will be daughter's first visit, I'll likely push that to one side and stay close by so she gets to experience that buzz.

(And it means when she gets to visit by herself in years to come, she'll not feel the need to stay there!)

Love the Marriot Marquis... you can get rooms high up with 2x double beds an am amazing view of the square below (I have stayed with my cousin & planning to take my daughter later in the year). Also riding up and down the elevators in the atrium is fun! I wouldn't choose Times Sq either but for a first time it's a great location.

we stayed in Crowne Plaza TS with my 16 year old son - 2 double beds in our room, it was a lovely hotel and plenty of space in the room. I paid extra for a TS view also.

We stayed at The Manhatten @ Times Square (booked through Thomas Cook). They have 2 queen size beds in the rooms which was ideal for me and DD.

It is really central and very close to Times Square.

We have stayed in the Crowne Plaza on Times Square, the room was lovely and had two double beds. Personally I couldn’t fault it and would be happy to stay there again.

The Novotel is lovely and right in Times Square.
Also stayed at the Sheraton Times Square but didn’t like it as much as the Novotel
