price confusion

I am using Attraction Tickets to get a rough idea on price for 2021 as I booked with them in 2019 but the price differs depending on how many people are in the room, I thought the room price was fixed regardless of how many stayed in it? The room price increases for standard room at POFQ if you jump from 2 adults to 3 adults but stays the same if you do 2 adults 1 child. There are only 2 of us going but I want to potentially purchase an extra park ticket for extra dining credits but it seems to affect the base room price

I think Disney now charge more for rooms with the pull down bed. Maybe the website is assuming that is what you need for 3 adults?

there is an extra charge for any additionnal adult (18+) over 2 adults in a room

the extra charge depends on the hotel category

Value Resorts – a per person fee of $15 per night
Moderate Resorts – a per person fee of $25 per night
Deluxe Resorts – a per person fee of $35 per night

not all booking site reflect this
usually on disney UK (direct) the charge does not apply
on the US site, the charge applies (most of the time)

note that universal also has a $25 per additionnal adult charge per night

ETA : OP if you add a child (10 yo ) you will get adult dining credits (free DDP) while still not being hit by the extra adult charge.

Thanks for the info I didn't know that, I think the credits have changed though now as well, kids and adults dining credits are separated. It might work out cheaper just to pay for the extra meals once I've added in room surcharges, extra ticket and upgrade from QS to TS

First, the dining plan doesn't depend on the tickets - you can buy the dining plan without having any tickets. However, to get the free dining you do need to buy tickets - but currently the free dining offer isn't on in the UK.

Which might explain why the price varies? Perhaps Attraction Tickets are bundling in the dining plan with the cost of the room. In which case, the cost will increase depending on the number and type of people.

Either that or AT are booking via the US in order to get free dining. In which case, see chmurf's post above.

On the UK booking site, you definitely need to buy a hotel and tickets package in order to purchase a dining plan.

This may be different if booking with DVC points or possibly through the US site.

Oh, ok. Apologies. For some reason I thought you could buy a dining plan with just an onsite room booking. Admittedly, I've never tried it so I'm not sure why I thought that.

So scrub what I said.
