Also Toto- Africa
“There’s nothing a 100 men on mars could ever do”

Should be, “there’s nothing that a 100 men or more could ever do”[/QUOTE]

That’s the first record I ever bought and I sang ‘100 men on mars’ for so many years, that I struggle to sing the proper words even now if I ever hear that song! 😂

Slightly different, but from I was a little lad, if ever we sang Lord of The Dance at church, I was convinced that it was "I am the lord of the dance settee". I wasn't old enough to read, so just learnt it by singing it. For years, I sang the song, imagining JC on a bouncy sofa.

Decades passed, literally, and I had the occasion to visit a church for a christening. They sang this hymn and, having forgotten the majority of the words, I had to actually read the hymn book. Got to be honest, while it was a bit of a surprise to discover the real words, it does make sense to have the line "I am the lord of the dance, said he"

Was very proud last year, when I told the vicar at our DGS's christening that we wanted the Dance Settee song. I also had most of our friends singing the wrong words

I had exactly the same image when I was a kid.

I was always convinced Neil Diamond was singing about The Reverend Blue Jeans.

Eurythmics- There must be an Angel (talking to my heart).

In the chorus where Annie keeps singing “must be talking to an Angel”, my late Dad used to sing “Mosquito to an Angel!” - which obviously makes no sense at all but used to amuse me as a child!

One of my children's favourites is 'the circle of life' - just after the first few lines the song is 'ingonyama nengw enambala' it sounds just like 'have you got a penguin in your bottom' obviously these are the words we sing when watching the Lion King 😂😂

Another favourite is Madonna's 'la isla bonita' it should be 'young girl with eyes like the dessert' but surely it's 'young girl with eyes like potatoes' 😂 😂
