Got to be Anchor butter , my Husband slices his butter on bread rather than spread it and puts a big dollop of butter in his mash .

I picked branded margarine - flora buttery or the cholesterol lowering one. also use salted butter occasionally which tends to be stores own.

The current spreads are so far removed from margarine it's amazing - especially the buttery ones.

I remember eating actual margarine when I was a kid. Hardly surprising it was banned in the UK ! Vile.

Lurpak spreadable although block butter is better for toast.

I do buy supermarket own block butter for making cakes though.

If I buy a sandwich in a sandwich shop, I always say No butter because they use marg. Hubby has sunflower marg, simply because he can’t have dairy.

Yes, this is me - any cafe where I think there's a possibility of it being marg I won't order a sandwich. DH thinks I'm being fussy but I can't stand the taste of it.
