We had a new Aldi open near us, I went the week it opened and the bag of carrots I bought were dripping, I gave them a miss but as friends and family were raving about shopping there I thought I would give it another go but the potatoes I bought were rotten. So I have given up.

Aldi sent me a £5 "goodwill voucher" Not much goodwill as the chicken had cost me £4 !
Apparently the green in the chicken is a muscle wasting disease that is caused by the chicken being injected with something to accelerate growth.
I am now back at Asda on click and collect. Spending less than Aldi and the food is lasting a lot longer.

You should also look for white striations in the meat which is a sign of accelerated growth used in factory farming. Chickens that have been raised like this have more fat and less protein.

It all sounds revolting! I should not have read that just before lunch.

Maybe it’s certain areas as my local Aldi has been fine, fruit and veg lasting quite a while and tasty! I’ve only had a carrot cake which was out of date by a day so shelf fillers missed that one but then I would normally check dates for longest but didn’t that day!
As for Lidl in my area the veg is rubbish, no taste and the bags of potatoes I’ve brought on separate occasions have been all bruised!
