Bath Road /Purple Parking
We've booked to stay at Premier Inn Bath Road before going to NYC in February next year- I understand there is Purple Parking car park nearby? If we drop the car off the night before can we easily walk / access the hotel ? Or is it better to pay to park at the hotel overnight and drop the car off the next day?

Purple Parking is right next door to the Premier Inn.

It is right next door. We generally pay the £10 to park at Premier Inn then move it across next door in the morning, having put our overnight stuff in the boot. We then use the free shuttle to the terminal(s).
Word of warning. On getting home, we found damage to our rear bumper. We could not prove that it was purple parking. Check your car before you leave

We used that Purple Parking and our spare tyre was missing from underneath the car when we left ( it was in a locked cage under the car- Citreon) for that reason we would'nt use them again.
I know it could happen to anyone, but we tend to use others now , this year we are using on site parking which is more expensive but saves wasting time waiting for transfer buses. |

Have used this PI and Purple Parking for many years without any problems. DH drops us at hotel with suitcases then checks car in next door. In morning we just walk round and take their shuttle to terminal. Would definitely recommend.

We use Good to Go which is at the back of the PI Bath Road (although separated by a big fence )
Its the official T2 car park but under a different name - and cheaper too. We've used it loads of times with no issues. We drop our stuff at the hotel/check in etc and then go round to the car park. There is a transfer bus to the terminal (not the hotel) but the hotel IS walkable. Just follow the road round and its about a 10 minute walk. KAtie |

We have been doing it this way for years too. Also means if we want to head somewhere other than the Thyme restaurant at the PI we can. If you fancy dinner at Thyme, it's not bad, but worth prebooking a table at busy times of year.
Sorry to hear cornishfrogboy and others have had problems with their car on return. We must have been lucky, no issues in many years of using this parking, both as Purple Parking, purple parking business, and whatever it was before that - MG parking? We like their free terminal transport rather than the pay for PI hoppa bus. That said there was a thread recently that indicated they no longer do a T4 transfer - you need to change at 2/3 and get the transporter. This might change our approach in future if true. Will have to see what the new T4 hotel /parking options are. |
