Discount ticket booth New York

Hi,

2 days to go!

I was just making a bad weather contingency plan and wondered if anyone had managed to get good tickets from the discount booths? What did you get? How much did they cost? Any top tips?!

TIA

Hi there,

It’s a few years ago now but we got tickets for Mamma Mia, the discount was 40% I think. The seats were good, they were to one side but still a good view, we were really happy with them for the price.
Unfortunately this year we wanted to see Wicked but they weren’t being sold at the ticket booths so had to pay full price! $$$$
Have a wonderful time

If you download the TKTS app it shows what tickets are for sale at the ticket booths in NY.

You can't actually buy on the app and it will never be 100% accurate but should give you an idea of what you can get.

Last few times we went it was so busy with the line with the line winding round and round we gave it a miss!
I did manage to get a last minute ticket for that night for Frozen the musical, which was awesome, so sometimes it's worth trying the box office to see what returns they have!

We saw Jersey Boys in 2013 (can’t believe it was so long ago!). Got tickets from TKTS in Times Square, I’m sure it was a decent price and we were allocated good seats. We went this year and the set up is the same - you queue up on the day you want to go and the shows available are displayed on a screen.

We saw Chicago this year using Avois points and Frozen was booked when the tickets were released. We sat right at the back for Frozen as the tickets were expensive, lol. We paid $125 each for frozen inc. taxes but I think it’s cheaper now.

Is Frozen worth the money? We love watching stuff on stage

Erm... I pleased I’ve seen it, esp. as it’s not open in the West End but whilst it was good I thought it would be more magical. We saw the preview show at Disneyland last year and I thought that was better; the staging for Let It Go was disappointing compared to the preview.
Of the Disney shows I have to admit I preferred Aladdin and Lion King.

it was around the $70 mark. It was for tickets right up the balcony but near the front of the balcony so had a great view albeit very high up!
I really enjoyed it, would recommend it, the costumes and props are amazing and there's some different songs too just for the musical. But they have changed the story a little!

Just got Frozen tickets on Stubhub. We've paid $115 each for Orchestra Left (stalls) on row M for Saturday matinée. We were happy(ish) with that price.
