So what would you do?
Going at Easter and need to spend some time on International drive(as planned stuff in that area) and then we are going to St Augustine and surrounding area.
My question is which way around? The reason I ask is I am trying to avoid Easter driving mayhem. So when we stay I Drive we will walk everywhere or get I Trolley so won’t have a car. The dates of travel are 16 April-28 April. So would you go to St Augustine and other areas between 16-22 April but Easter is in the middle of these dates or stay put on I drive and pick car up 23 April(day after Easter Mon) and do the driving part of the holiday then? Dont want to be stuck in traffic for hours getting to and from places. Is it just Easter weekend that’s silly busy on the roads as if it is perhaps I can base myself somewhere for those 4 days TIA

To be honest, I really wouldn't worry. We were there last Easter (and are going next) and we stayed at the Rosen Plaza on International Drive and it was absolutely fine. There was no mad Easter business - think that's only really when you get to the parks themselves. Although there are always crazy American drivers around, it was no different to any other time. Just do it the way round that suits you.

I didn't notice any difference in traffic particularly. The parks were busier but that was about it.

Easter is not such a big holiday in the USA.

That’s great to hear thank you all. I read a post about someone going to KSC Easter Sun and taking an additional 2 hrs on top of normal
So if driving not particularly a huge issue would you avoid parks Easter weekend then as we could do our St Augustine stay first and do parks (only doing the Seaworld, Aquatica,Busch ones) the week after Easter Mon? Or are the parks equally as busy the time we are away? Doing D Cove too

We went to Universal on Easter Sunday expecting it to be rammed, it was busy but not overly. Get there as soon as it opens. We went to Perkins on IDrive in the afternoon about 4 ish for a turkey dinner. Highly recommend and reasonable. We went to Volcano Bay on the Good Friday about 11 am it was busy here but we got seats behind the Volcano. If you go to Universal in the evening of Easter week they have a Madi Gras parade where they throw colourful beads from the floats, this was fun. Happy holiday planning.
