Beach near Cocoa Beach without red tide
Hi,
We are in Florida now, we’ve been to Cocoa Beach a couple of times, but it’s now badly affected by red tide. Can anyone suggest a beach near there not affected, only want to travel around an hour or just over from Kissimmee, not Clearwater or St Petes though...Thank you Just been googling and fancy Smyrna Beach, but not sure which approach / part to visit, don’t want o take he car on the beach, somewhere to park for a couple of hours Edited at 10:34 PM. Reason: Spelling mistake |

The red tide is reported as far north as Flagler Beach, an unprecedented occurrence.
With the changes in tides and wind directions you have to anticipate Red Tide on any Florida beach at least until next year. |

Red Tide
We cancelled our accomodation at Siesta Key due to red tide and booked Cocoa Beach instead. Now it's there!
I don't think that any coast is safe. My only saving grace is that at least at Cocoa beach there is the Space centre and other places nearby that don't involve the beach. Such a shame though and I feel so sorry for the businesses that depend on the tourist trade Fingers crossed things may have changed by the time we visit in Dec. |
