Thanks for the replies very informative. We did the tour basically to see some of the units and for my DW to get a feel for the DVC.

We stayed at Kidani in August and no paper pass! Just the magic band to scan.

So if a DVC member pays towards the car parks within their dues, can they not park for free even when not staying onsite (points or cash)?

Legally I am not sure if it was challenged. I suppose that would mean you could walk in and use the pools etc when you are not staying either. I think they are justified in staying you have paid the proportion in relation to the points you own, and as such, its only contributed to you in that percentage so it tallies you can only use it when staying there.
I am surprised actually they don't charge when paying cash, but maybe someone worked out it is too complicated legally for the same reason and there is an argument members cannot be charged at any time!

So, we go next week. We're DVC members but not staying on points.

On our first night (Sunday), we have a throwaway WL Campground booking and on our last night (Thursday), we have an All Star Sports booking.

Are any of those days free for us to park then? We'll be using a car as opposed to the free buses as we have so many places to go and won't have time to wait around.

Cheers
Joa

Joa. We always stay in a Value on the night of arrival as my view is it saves Points and we are only there for a few hours anyhow.

Checked into ASM on Saturday and straight away the check in Lady told me there was a parking charge. I told her not for UK bookings yet and she spent a while checking to verify this. Not an issue but she wouldn't believe me!

If you booked via a U.K. Agent yours is free.

Campsite bookings are free of parking charges no matter where they were booked.

I booked ASSp via the WD Travel Company UK, so yay for me!
I read today that parking for parks is free for AP holders too so I may get it free that way!

Thanks Mr M

Joa. You are right. AP holders get free parking at the Parks staying onsite or offsite. A nice perk for offsite stays.

Is this something new with annual passes or is it always been free parking.

I think it always has been but I will stand corrected if I'm wrong.
