Florida in Europe? Disney (Cruise) and Theme Parks - Day 10 - Livorno, Italy

Wednesday 26 August – Livorno, Italy

Another Italian port today in Livorno, which replaced La Spezia on the original itinerary, this was a bit disappointing as whilst I have been to Livorno before I hadn’t been to La Spezia. Livorno is a nice town with expensive shopping and the port for visits to Florence and Pisa. On a previous visit we had an enjoyable day trip to Florence, but as is the theme for this holiday we let others do the day trips whilst we stayed on board and enjoyed the lack of passengers!

We woke a bit earlier today at 9.15 went for breakfast and then Harriet joined me by the pool as her friends had left the ship. After a while Harriet went for a swim and then to the Edge.

I visited the poolside eateries again for lunch, Pete’s Boiler Bites today for a Shawarma (more commonly known a kebab in the UK!).

At 7pm after another lazy day working on one of the best tan’s I’ve ever got, relaxing and reading, I went to the live show ‘Walt Disney – the dream goes on’ which is the story of Walt Disney.

Harriet also met Thor on her way round the ship today!

At 8pm when the show had finished I went up on deck to watch us sail away, we were a bit late leaving as we waited for 3 late passengers. I got talking to some Americans and then to some people from the UK on the first cruise, they turned out to include one of the people from the Facebook group I had been following.

Dinner was at Animators Palate this evening but no drawings and cartoons this time instead a show on the walls of the restaurant that changed from black and white into colour as the evening went on. At the end of meal Sorcerer Mickey made an appearance, no chance for photos as he didn’t visit each table instead paraded with the waiters around the room.

After dinner Harriet went back to the Edge! and I went back to the cabin to watch the movie ‘Insurgent’ on the TV, I fell asleep before the end and before Harriet came back, but she woke me at 12.30am when she came to bed!

I loved when Sorcerer Mickey came into the restaurant! Ollie was also a fan of the shawarma, he managed several as afternoon snacks!

Thor was so funny. We said we were from London and he said he had been there. I said “I know, we’re still rebuilding Greenwich!”
