We’ve set off!
At Leeds train station we had half an hour before the next train so grabbed a Starbucks. We immediately made a gluten error and ordered DD a caramel cheesecake frappachino. Despite this been our mistake Starbucks replaced for free with a vanilla one the same as her sister. They couldn’t swap as DD2 isn’t a big caramel fan at all. No receipt but they were lovely. Especially the caramel cheesecake one that DH and myself now shared. DH and myself had large lattes. Edited at 02:53 PM. |

Giraffe at LGW for tea. We asked about gluten free first and were given an iPad with the allergen menu on.
After DD1 decided what she wanted (all day brunch) we then sat down and the rest of us checked the menus. DD1 gluten free all day brunch. She really loved this. It was right up her street. DD2 has kids cheese flatbread. She’s not a big fan of food in general except Nutella and strawberries but she was starving so ate half of this without faffing too much. DH had burger and fries. No complaints and he ate in half the time it took me to eat mine! I had chicken katsu burger. This was lovely except the chicken was a bit tough. I had to deconstruct the sandwich and eat it separately though! Pudding was two kids ones. Hot choc brownie for DD2 and ice-cream sundae for DD1. DH and I had the same, Rocky Road. With drinks. X4 kids Pepsi’s and X2 Corona’s (two Coronas were free as we’re staying at Bloc) it was around £72 in cost. The gluten free was easy to circumnavigate, the podium host got us the menu asap and our server sorted the subs on her brunch.

Breakfast was back at Giraffe. As they did so well with gluten free last night and you got 20% with last nights receipt it seemed daft not to!
DD1 has gluten free breakfast. She had an adult’s but I would say they seemed so capable a child’s one wouldn’t be an issue. As two items were removed, sausages and home fries, she had extra eggs and some toast (toast is usually charged extra). DD1 loved it but couldn’t manage all the egg! DD2 had kids pancakes without the blueberry and banana. She just had syrup. These looked so nice and she ate the lot bar one bite. DH and myself both had the breakfast with toast. Neither of us finished it despite it been lovely! You can have the eggs however you want. I can highly recommend Giraffe. We had eaten here last year and enjoyed it. They were great with DD1’s coeliac as well.

Flight wise food was great. Neither kid ate their food but that was by choice as opposed to any issues with the food. The gluten free stuff was just a tad beyond DD1’s taste buds. My chicken was lovely and DH said the beef was nice (no photo of the beef). Apologies for the photos of the gluten free meals, DH took them as I wasn’t sat near DD1.
Gluten free with chicken with salad and fruit salad. My chicken with salad and a mango pudding. I love mango so this was lovely! Kids meal, sausage and mash with a brownie and a kit Kat. Cold drinks were served with the meal and a very small hot drink shortly afterwards. Edited at 12:06 AM. |

Everyone tea came in a bag. No different kids options gluten free was nice again, egg and tomato sandwich, fruit salad and fruit juice. Other one was chicken sandwich with fruit juice and then very oddly a gluten free brownie (I gave my brownie to DD2).
