At Cabana Bay both kids opted for cereal for tea. It’s a bit of a treat as cereal plays havoc with DD1’s blood sugars (she’s type1 diabetic) so we rarely eat it at home. DH and myself both had hot dog and fries, we were so tired we opted for the shorted queue available when choosing. We also bought a refillable mug each.

The brownie was not good! As with a lot of gluten free foods it was free from a fair amount to cover three allergens. This does destroy the taste somewhat.

Hot dog and fries.

Breakfast was at Bayliner Diner. Kids had cereal again. DD2 added a croissant and DD1 a gluten free muffin. The muffin was far nicer than the brownie she’d tried last night. I had waffles and DH a breakfast plate which came with a small drink. He opted for orange juice and it’s a good hypo treatment for DD1! We used our refillable mug for drinks.

All lovely. No complaints at all. Bill was $31

We expected the diner to be much busier. We arrived around 08:30, when we left it was far busier mind but there is so much seating it’s not an issues and plenty of staff sorting food and cashiers to pay.

Lunch was at McDonalds in Walmart. Same as the UK there isn’t any gluten free alternatives to things like bread or chicken strips. It’s a case of choosing the food that is gluten free anyway. DD1 had her UK option of burger patty and fries. The Happy Meal came with apple slices which DD2 ate.

DD2 only had fries. DH and myself had Quarter Pounder meals. These weren’t great (and we do generally like McDonalds), over salty (inc the burger) and pretty greasy.

$21 for two meals, one happy meal and one fries and drink.

Edited at 07:43 PM.

Walmart. We didn’t scour the aisle for gluten free, just lucked upon the cereal DD1 wanted and left it at that so I can’t really comment on how good or bad Walmart are for gf. The cereal was in the cereal aisle as opposed to a free from aisle.

DD2 very excited for PopTarts as we don’t get them at home at all!

Tea today at Bayliner Diner.

Pizza all round. DD1 had a child’s gluten free cheese and tomato pizza. The other three of us shared a cheese and a pepperoni. DD1 had chocolate milk which came with her kids pizza, she as also had gf shortbread. DH and DD2 got a muffin each as well.

No complaints about the gf pizza. She said the base was nice. She ate the lot so I didn’t get to do my own taste test!

These were lovely. Very doughy but we like that.

Breakfast today was in the room with what we bought from Walmart yesterday. DD1 had her gluten free Chex cereal. DD2 her S’mores Poptarts and myself and DH had cereal bars with coffee from the in room coffee machine.

Lunch was at Bayliner Diner at 11:10, we wrongly assumed dinner/lunch would begin at 11:00 but it’s actually 11:30 so we had breakfast for lunch. We could have waited but we were very very hungry!

DH and myself has the same, the breakfast platter which came with orange juice. DD2 had the kids waffle and DD1 a collection of hot gluten free things. The gluten free plate was charged per thing (see receipt) rather than a kids meal.

This was all fine, nice tbh but we had to shift focus mental from lunchtime food to breakfast foods!

Tea was at Bayliner Diner for the kids. DD1 had gluten free cheese pizza. We realised last night the pizza she had was also dairy free so DH stressed we only needed a gluten free pizza. DD1 much preferred this one. DD2 had kids pepperoni pizza. Both came with kids drink so they had chocolate milk.

DH and myself had Panda Express at CitiWalk. We both had fried rice with two chicken dishes. They were orange chicken and firecracker chicken. We’ve wanted this since last year and it didn’t disappoint!
