It was at Disney Springs - just shows it seems to depend on the cast member which is annoying!

I posted this over on ticketing but may have been better in this thread-
We have decided next year we may do a Christmas trip, then go again in summer 2020.

We are DVC owners, and so can get the annual gold pass for 589. But of course that has blackout dates at Xmas.

So question is- could we get the UK 14 day ticket, use at Xmas, then upgrade it to an annual gold pass at the end of the holiday to use the following summer?

Also I saw this on the Disney website- does anyone know if they have stopped UK ticket upgrades to passes?

*Tickets types that are not eligible for upgrades include UK Special Tickets, Special Event Tickets, Complimentary Tickets, Water Park Tickets and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Tickets.

I upgraded my uk ultimate 2 days ago. In theory you should be able to upgrade after using the ticket during a gold pass blackout but not 100% sure.

Yet to do it YT but as I understand it, you only need to upgrade during the passes validity period, your AP starts on the first day of use of the previous pass. We need to upgrade our 21 Day Ultimates next year so hoping that's not what is meant by "Special UK Ticket"

Yes it’s interesting because this way if you can do it, you effectively get the annual pass, but get access at blackout time before you upgrade.

That is a fantastic result. This is what I’m hoping for albeit next year in December, to use the 14 day for Xmas then upgrade to DVC annual pass for a nominal sum for the following July.

We are considering changing our holiday dates for next year so have looked at coatings. Quoted $63.90 for gold pass and $319 for platinum + at Disney springs. AK quoted us $440 ish today... if we use our ultimate for water parks does that mean we can’t upgrade to a gold?
