Totally in awe of all of your photos. Great to see you held off the true food option until lunch at Crystal Palace, you got so much done in the best time of the day to enjoy the rides rather than sitting in a restaurant whilst there are short queues to be enjoyed!
I hate eating breakfast in a very quiet park too

Your evening sounds great, the new Disney Springs eating opportunities have transformed the place.
You got so much done today

I'd much rather be sitting in a nice air conditioned restaurant when the park is hot and full of people than when it's slightly cooler and quiet. We all prefer mornings in the parks.

The evening in Disney Springs wasn't part of the plan, but as we were rained out of the pool we thought we'd head over there.

There will be loads more photos coming as I've got over 2000 from this trip!

Brilliant first day.

But I'm now dreaming/wishing I was having breakfast at Gaston's!

I really like your planning cards, I had something similar last year but decided to go with the flow more this time so didn’t have them, but I felt like we missed things because I didn’t have a plan to stick to enough. It is so hard to find the right balance, as previous years have felt too regimented. I completely agree that the planning is a big part of the holiday, when the holiday gets really close I start to feel sad that the planning is over!

You achieved a lot today, our first MK day is always Fantasyland but I loved your start in Frontierland, I think we'll do that next time. Even though you did a lot it seemed a really chilled out day, I really love the sound of your evening.

I'm late to the party (how did I miss this?! ) so someone has probably already told you that the photo on Pirates is just before the drop - the flash from the skull chatting it up before you drop is blinding.

What a lovely first day though, always great to get in some good park time and swim time - you fit a lot in!

I feel like you packed loads in and still managed to get an afternoon swim in there too. I think I may need to look at all my notes and tally our rides and characters to see if we do more or less than I think! Crystal Palace looked great fun. I would sell my soul for one of those cinnamon buns from Gaston’s right now-the ones I’ve found in Asda and from Greggs just don’t quite hit the spot 😩

I liked the cards too! I worried people would think I was mental for writing them, but I found them really useful. I dont like to carry a lot of things around with me and they were pocket sized which was great. There were so many snacks, or characters, or shows I wanted to try and fit in that I wanted to make a note of them to remind myself. In the end we never did meet the step sisters this trip and that was something we were 'supposed' to do on this day!

We always go to fantasyland on day 1 in MK so this year I wanted to try something different. I really liked it this way! I'd scheduled 3 early mornings in MK so we do have an am in Tomorrowland and in fantasyland later on in the trip.

I think we did figure out the photo, it's the same in dinosaur absolutely blinding! I'm not sure if we were able to pose for either of them though.

The kids were desperate to get to the pool and I always try to have some downtime for all of us each day so we can just do our own thing and not be in each others pockets all day long. We swim each Sunday at home and they are both good swimmers so I can dose on a sunbed and not need to pay constant attention. It's win win! That way we are less likely to get on each others nerves like we would if we were with each other all day long.

I bet your tally of rides is up there! It's amazing how much you can get done in the first couple of hours of the day if you force your kids to get up at the crack of dawn, scratch that, if you force your kids to get up and out to the bus stop when it's still dark and then don't let them eat breakfast until like 10am sure they might be starving but they get over that once they're on a ride.
