Our bathroom is titchy, but we just had ours done and some of the prices here are eye watering.
We ended up keeping the bath, as it was ever so slightly smaller than a regular bath and was in good nick anyway, we just replaced the front with painted wood rather than the plastic that was there, the sink and toilet was all ripped out, tiled walls and ceiling, shower screen, nice new shower fittings and a heated towel rail instead of the old radiator. Floor tiles £27 from homebase discount outlet, £180 floor tiles fitting £280 toilet (we had to get a special one as we had a funny fitting) £197 Sink with inbuilt cabinet, wall mirror vanity unit and shower fittings £140 for shower screen and bathroom wall tiles Labour is tricky as we had our whole house done, and they skipped between rooms, the plumber/fitter was £120 a day, and the builder/tiler was £100 a day, I would suspect about 3 days for the general builder, and 2 for the plumber. Total about £1350 ish...

We are on the third week with ours - I’d have loved it to have only cost the amount yours did.
However, we have had much more work done and some of it is outside of the bathroom, but due to the bathroom being done. We kept nothing, everything including the tiles and old door frame and small cupboard was ripped out and completely started from scratch as sink, toilet, radiator, lights, pipework all changed around and new floor, boarding and plastering needed.

Sounds reasonable as you live in the SE.
Are you curious as to what your neighbour paid now? 😉

Your neighbour is probably wondering what he’s charging you too - you’ll probably find out then 😆

so far two quotes in for ours... one being just over £10k, one being just under £11k. ive also sent emails to the others i contacted asking them to at least respond and say they are fully booked or something within the next 48 hours. then i go find a couple more quotes, as they both seem quite high (double what i was hoping for)
