Date-Based Ticket Pricing for Disney MYW Tickets Starts Today

A reminder to folk:

As of 12pm today Disney has now switched to it's date-based pricing for it's Magic Your Way tickets. This was mentioned a little while ago here on the DIBB (here, for example), on Disney's Blog (here), and is now in effect.

You can get Magic Your Way tickets if you go on Disney's website below and change to the "United States (English)" at the top right:

disneyworld.disney.go/ad...s/theme-parks/

Note that these changes do not affect the UK Ultimate tickets nor do they affect MYW tickets that have already been bought.

Overall, it looks like prices for the MYW tickets have generally increased (ETA: some prices for off-peak periods have decreased). For example, a 4-Day MYW Base ticket in October will cost around $397+tax now (dependent on date) but it used to cost $380+tax. However, I do notice that Disney's maths isn't very good:

As well as the price changes, the validity of the tickets has changed too. You now have to choose a start date for the ticket (previously you could use a multi-day ticket at any time of year you wanted) and the expiry date of the ticket depends on the number of days chosen; only the 10 day MYW ticket has a validity period of 14 days now.

Ticket Type : Ticket Validity Period
1-Day Ticket : Only the start date selected
2-Day Ticket : Any 2 days within 4 days beginning on the start date
3-Day Ticket : Any 3 days within 5 days beginning on the start date
4-Day Ticket : Any 4 days within 7 days beginning on the start date
5-Day Ticket : Any 5 days within 8 days beginning on the start date
6-Day Ticket : Any 6 days within 9 days beginning on the start date
7-Day Ticket : Any 7 days within 10 days beginning on the start date
8-Day Ticket : Any 8 days within 12 days beginning on the start date
9-Day Ticket : Any 9 days within 13 days beginning on the start date
10-Day Ticket : Any 10 days within 14 days beginning on the start date

Also note the following:

"You can make changes to your tickets, including your ticket dates, prior to midnight ET of the day before your ticket’s first valid use date. There’s no change fee to modify, but an additional cost applies for dates with higher ticket prices. No refund or credit is given for changes from dates with higher prices to dates with lower prices".

So if you change your tickets to a lower price, you won't get a refund.

Disney has also increase the price of the Annual Passes by $45 (before tax) and has also increased the parking fee to $25.

So prices seem to be increasing everywhere at Disney!

Orlandoattractions are still selling the old tickets and the 6 day base ticket is actually cheaper now than when I bought them a few weeks ago.

undercovertourist are also still selling them, but I think overall orlandoattractions.com are slightly cheaper.

Definitely worth buying them while they are still available.

Just read on another site that a predicted Star Wars opening date is guesstimated on 17 Dec 2019 because you can only purchase tickets up to the 16 Dec . Not looked myself but Interesting !

That's a bit of a stretch (I realise that you're just passing on the message, so this isn't aimed at you Mexy02).

For starters, you can purchase tickets after 16th December. The 16th December is just the start date. So, I can select a 10 day ticket and start it on the 16th December 2019 and it will then be valid until 30th December 2019. I can also select the "Flexible" option and that allows me to first use the ticket at any time between now and 31st December 2019 - so a 10 day flexible ticket would be valid until 14th January 2020.

Neither 30th December 2019 nor 14th January 2020 is "late-Fall 2019".

I suspect that it's just where the tickets go up to at the moment. It's just 14 months from now.

I thought the same but I’d not checked it out , I suspect further ticket increase anyway before it opens , it will be interesting to see what uk ticket prices become
