Anyone booked hotel through Travel Repubic for £10 deposit?

Hi

Just wondered if anyone has done this and then needed to amend the booking?
From what I can understand there is a £25 amendment fee and that's it, other than a £40 fee for cancellation which I wont be doing.

Im 99% positive I will need to amend as we dont have the flights booked and could be a few days either side, so I know i'll need to pay the £25. (a drop in the ocean compared to the price I would pay for the hotel elsewhere)

Its more than a year in advance and I found it for half the price ive been seeing on booking.com
(I went in 2015 for a good price and since then the price has more than tripled for the same time of year)
So once I saw this price today ive booked it just hoping there are no other fees or loopholes?

Thanks

I booked with them once with the £1 deposit for a Universal hotel. Luckily I was able to amend to something else and avoided a fee entirely. At the time a lot of people were tempted by the £1 deposit thinking that’s all they’d lose but it looks like the fees are pretty clear for you. TR do clearly state any cancellation and amendment fees so I wouldn’t be worried.

For the amendment it'll be £25 plus (or minus) any extra in price, not just £25 regardless.

Hi, thanks.

Ive managed to speak to someone at Travel Republic and cleared things up.
Also confirmed that if I see the hotel cheaper on their website between now and 7 days before I go, I can rebook at the better price and they will cancel the original booking and only class it as an amendment not a cancellation, so £25 charge not £40 charge.
