Apple Watch Series 4
I've just got the apple watch series 4 and cannot get Mickey or Minnie to speak the time.
I have been on to apple help and they have ran diagnostics etc but still not working. They are saying that it's a common problem. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'll ask my daughter later when she's home from work. I know she hasn't tried it yet.

just tried it on mine and it speaks the time with quick double tap on the watch face.
did you set the watch up as new or restore it from an old one? I had problems with the new series 4 watch faces not showing on mine when I restored from old watch. I just unpaired it and set it up as a new watch and everything was working ok then. make sure 'Tap to speak time' is enabled, it's in - watch app on phone > Sounds & haptics > and that the watch isn't in silent mode

Thanks Stu, still can't get either of them to talk and I've tried unistalling unpairing etc. I've just tried to double tap and nothing.
I set it up as a new watch. I've followed these steps to the 'T' support.apple/en-gb/HT207194 Also left it charging overnight etc...

does the watch make sounds ok, for instance if you ask Siri what time it is does the watch speak the time?

ok the last thing I would try is the following...
1. Open the “Settings” app on the Apple Watch and go to “General” 2. Scroll down and choose “Reset” 3. Tap on “Erase All Content and Settings” 4. Enter the passcode for the Apple Watch 5. Scroll down and confirm you wish to reset the Apple Watch and erase all data from the device. 6. Setup watch as New If that fails to cure it then I guess the only thing left then is to get Apple to exchange it, even though it is more likely a software issue rather than a hardware issue.
