First time in California help pls

Hey all you lovely Dibbers , its been six years since i last visited the house of mouse in Florida. Now being an overgrown child and wanabe Disney geek cant wait to go to the original park that Walt built.

Im taking my far better half for her birthday ( she will be in Disney for her birthday) we are staying near the parks supposedly a ten min walk but i have heard that before lol. I have ADR's for Minnies for breakfast and Goofys for dinner both character dining ( my wife really wants to meet everyone) we intend getting the max passes as well as our three day hoppers. those are the basics covered now the bits im struggling with ...

Car hire ... sounds simple BUT i need to pick up as close to disney as poss ...again shouldnt be a drama except after we leave disney we are driving to Vegas for the next leg of out trip, so need to drop ideally on strip . Sixty car rental do a casino drop off which is perefect except you have to pick the car up in hollywood other wise it seems all the others you have to drop off at vegas airport does anyone know or have used companys where strip drop off is avalible?

Grand canyon bus/coach tour, now i know its a long day but i really fancy it have never done the grand canyon and on the trip to Vegas fancied it . has anyone had experince of it. ideally we would prefer a smaller more intimate luxury bus and have seen a few advertised but just wasnt sure if it was worth the 13 hour trip , i have tried to get my wife to go in the helicopter from the strip but she really hates helicopters so bus or coach it has to be if anything.

thank you so so much in advance we cant wait to go , we leave on april 15th

There is a car rental onsite at DL, and if there is no strip location to drop at, just drop at Las Vegas airport. It’s a very short taxi ride to the strip from there.

Why don't you keep the car for Vegas and drive yourselves to the Grand Canyon? Can then drop off at the airport for flight home? We've just got back and had a car for the whole week there, we saw so much more with one.
If not I'm sure I saw signs for an Avis desk in the Luxor, Excaliber and NYNY so you could maybe drop off there?

What’s your full itinerary. I’d keep the car and drive to the Grand Canyon and ideally do a night there in one of the lodges.

Sorry guys was shattered yesterday should have explained the trip and time line , so we fly on the 15th early doors to be in lax for around 14.00 we are staying near Disney for four nights and eating at steakhouse 55 on that day for my wife’s birthday then off to bed to stave off the jet lag lol next day we are at the house of mouse we have three day hoppers with one day early magic hours , character breakfast breakfast in the second day and character dinner first night . The reason we are picking up the car only for one day is we will slide over to Hollywood and West Hollywood for a few hours to do a couple of things then head down to Vegas , the reason for not keeping the car is we are actually flying from Vegas after five nights to San Fran for two nights then flying home . I think total nights away is twelve or thirteen ( can’t remember lol ) and we are very lucky that this is not our first time in Vegas so we won’t need the car for that duration it’s more to chill out and do stiff we like there . We’re staying down at the pier in San Fran and we have our private tour of Alcatraz booked and mapmof how to find the painted ladies house and Mrs doubtfires house lol I’m such a child and so lucky my wife indulges me.

How are you getting to Vegas? Are you driving and then dropping the car when you arrive in Vegas? I’d keep it and do Grand Canyon yourselves. You can drive yourselves back to the airport then the day you leave for SF. There are tours to the GC too if you must, it will be a long day. A tour by plane is also possible. Just make sure it’s not Grand Canyon West you’re going to - most tours out of Vegas are and it’s just not the same. The real deal, the South rim is truly indescribable and awe inspiring.
