New Year in Lanzarote
Last few Christmases and New Year have been a bit rubbish !
I have convinced the family to go away for New Year but they don’t want to go away for Christmas itself. Tenerife seems a bit too pricey for me and I wondered if any one recommended Lanzarote for this time of year. We have been before but in summer months. I wondered what people thought if the weather ? I have been looking at villas with heated pools. Can we be sure of being able to swim ? Will everywhere be open ? We went to Cyprus once at New Year, weather was nice but lots of places were closed. Funds won’t extend to Florida unfortunately! |

we went for the big millenium new year to Lanzarote
we stayed in del carmen and everything was open, weather same as tenerife, generally in the low 20's during the day bit cooler of an evening. found it windier than tenerife. we are looking to do the same as you this year |

We went this Christmas just gone from 23-30th December. Christmas Eve was our first proper day and it wasn’t so windy it made it really miserable and I thought we had made a mistake but after that we had lovely weather and we were all in T-shirt’s and shorts every day and then I wore a cardigan at night being a cold blooded female!
Only downside was our hotel pool wasn’t heated so it was far too cold to swim and the small heated pool they did have got so busy but you wouldn’t have that issue in a villa. We would definitely go again at Xmas but have already booked DLP for this year so maybe the following christmas!

Thank you. 20’s would be ok ! Good to hear everything is open.
I have seen Ryanair flights from Leeds for £800 for 4 of us. It was over £1400 from Manchester. The flight from Leeds doesn’t get in until 23.30 so a whole day is lost. I think maybe I will wait until EasyJet flights are released. |

I can remember it was windy when we went before. Glad you enjoyed it. DLP was our other suggestion. Going for Christmas will be lovely. Our son is 21 and is willing to come to a villa in the sun with us but wasn’t keen on going to DLP and I want us all to go.
It is really important that we can go swimming, that is why I thought of going in a villa rather than a hotel. |
