Some questions about the FP 60 day rule, and adding people to a booking

Hi guys! I have just booked 8 nights at Endless summer in sept 2020 on a whim! It was my plan previously to stay onsite at disney but I couldn't pass up that price.

I do have some questions however-

I know people were talking about the 60 day FP 'loophole' where you stay at a disney hotel a night or a few nights at the start of your holiday being closed, but is this the case currently? I'm hoping to book 5 nights at disney, and if I can I will book it at the start of the holiday so we can use the 60 day FP for our entire trip.

If I book a disney hotel room with a dining plan when the free dining offer drops (fingers crossed) then will it be possible to add someone on at a later date? Even if it means paying full price for the dining plan for them.

Thanks!

You would get 60 day for the nights that you are onsite then revert to 30 days after check-out day.
As long as you are adding them to your original booking then there will only be the charge for their pass

Yes. The loophole has been closed so that you can only book fast passes for the number of nights of your stay. It was bound to happen eventually and I'm glad Disney have finally done it.

Oh well, I totally understand why it had to be closed but it would have been great for us. It’s fine, and really it works better for us to end our holiday in a Disney hotel. Fingers crossed we will be able to get some Star Wars FPs with the 60 day window on one of our Disney resort days!

I’m not going until sept 2020 so they should be available by then... right?

Edit: I just read into this- what does this mean for DAS users? I had a DAS last trip and may need one next trip- how does it work without fast pass? I’m assuming they still have a FP entrance built and will be utilising it at some point in the future?

God I hope they have a DAS system running by Aug 2020.

My son would not be able to enter any theme park of we couldn't get a return time so we can go hide somewhere quiet and wait.

This system, and those in the UK are a god send for us as my son has become a roller coaster junkie and a massive starwars fan too.

If this is not going to happen I need to start letting him down gently now.
