Grand Floridian v Grand Floridian DVC Villas

How does staying in the DVC section compare to the hotel? Do you feel it’s an add on or is it just feel the same? Always wanted to stay at the hotel but out of our price range this year, but we can afford to rent points for DVC. Or do we just wait a couple of years to afford the ‘real thing’?

I’d be interested to hear people’s thoughts on this, we’re renting dvc points here in May x

Standard hotel room vs DVC studio; the DVC room wins. In fact I prefer the DVC building to the outer buildings at the GF.

We much prefer our 1BR DVC room than almost anything the GF hotel could offer; including a king room in the main building.

We have only stayed in the DVC building but I love it. It has a nice little lobby and dedicated front desk staff. There’s a covered walkway to the car park side of the main building and it’s really not far. The rooms are a good size and the second shower is really handy.
I certainly don’t feel like I’m staying in the “cheap” part of the resort.

Definitely as good as staying in the "normal" GF. Only reason we don't book more DVC is our 16 year old finds sofa beds uncomfortable so we tend to book with 2 queen beds.
With the DVC you have the best of both worlds, love the GF DVC Lobby.

This was the dvc reception are and our dvc room , we were close to the wedding pavilion which was lovey , a short walk down the path to the beach and pool. We got given a accessible room as all the normal rooms had gone but it was great, the room was slightly smaller due to the very large accessible bathroom which was enormous.
Hope this helps

We loved our dvc start at GFV... We both said we would definitely go back ... ! Although we have never stayed in the hotel side staying at the villas didn't feel any less ... We still had access to all the facilities plus the added bonus of a dvc room.

It looks lovely-unfortunately not available for the dates we wanted.
