On DDP what is and isn't included?*?
We are trying to plan as much as possible now as in the months prior to our departure we are very busy
We have never had the DDP before and now alcoholic drinks are included how do we know which ones at each restaurant are included and what menu items are included? We don't intend to pick the most expensive items just because we can but it would be so helpful to know what is and isn't included Hopefully, between all the wonderful brains on the DIBB, we can at least go with a fighting chance

Pretty much all food items (99%) are included, and your server will tell you if there are any exclusions. They'll also advise on alcoholic drinks too

For drinks, I believe it's pretty much all single serving cocktails/spirits, wines and beers. So flights or bottles of wine are excluded. But as Vickie says, your server will let you know if it's included or not.
To add on to food, it's only the main course that's included - anything labelled as a starter or side (unless given choice of side as part of your main) will be extra cost. Edited at 07:40 PM. |

We found the servers were excellent at telling us if anything wasn’t covered on the dining plan. Although, I can’t remember anything that wasn’t really 😀 . I had a St Germain cocktail worth $18 at Chefs de France included for 1ts credit. In Coral Reef the $40 lobster was included in the ddp, we didn’t choose it but the server informed us that we could if we wanted. We visited STK in DS and used 2 ts credits and we could choose any steak on the menu for this, some of which were extremely expensive but sides here cost extra (quite unusual as most 2ts credits include the side, but we knew this before we went but wanted to try the restaurant). Our server told us this and suggested we have one side to share as they were plenty for two, which we did. But, generally, most meals and cocktails are included on ddp.

Thanks for this folks - we don't plan on picking the most expensive all the time but it is nice to know we can if we want.
Would be great to know if anyone else has experiences they have had picking items on the menu. Always like to hear how other people have got on ordering food

As others have said it’s pretty much any main course. Some signature restaurants may have something that requires a supplement but there are so few restrictions on dining plan it’s just as easy to say there are none.

As others have indicated, when you are shown to your table, your server will ask if you’re on any dining plan. They will then tell you what is and is not included. You then study the menu and just order what you like and if it’s not included in your plan, the server will put you right.
After one or two meals you will get the hang of it - for example: we are all savoury eaters and dislike the over-sweet American desserts, so we always order an appetiser and usually skip dessert (unless you can have cheese); the servers always tell us that we will have to pay for the desserts. Having an alcoholic drink included is new for us this time and we tend to order a bottle of wine, so this is a bonus - we can have a glass of wine each instead of buying a bottle, or maybe have a cocktail on the DDP and buy the wine as usual. I’m liking the choice

That all sounds great - looking forward to trying some different food and having a few cocktails - it would be a crime not too

The thing to remember when at TS restaurants is that you have to pay the tip on the final bill. So the more expensive the meals are, the more expensive the tip will be
