I've had both shoulders operated on, 1 twice plus various steroid injections and still have problems so feel for you. Mine were both sub acromial decompressions ie the tendon was inflamed for some reason - injury, wear and tear, age - and was rubbing on the gap it runs through. Therefore ops to enlarge gap and "hoover" out the debris in the tendon. These ops were preceded with steroid injections that didn't work and really hurt I found physio with a sports physio far better than just a regular hospital one, however they do cost more. Luckily I had pmi but even with that I ran out of funding. I live in Hampshire and the surgeon I used was lovely, even to the point that when I was saw him in the chemist he asked how I was. His name was Andrew Cole and he runs the Southampton shoulder clinic southamptonshoulderclinic/

Hope you get it resolved soon as I would rate shoulder pain as on a par with having children!

Yup, like Mr Toms wife I too aggravated a riding injury from 20 years ago & the continual dull ache had/has me in tears a lot of times. Dr suggested physio or injection (which is only a temp measures not a cure) & if physio did not work for me then surgery. Opted to try physio. I too was totally unable put my right arm higher than my hip behind me. NHS paid for the first 2 appointments. I continued with the physio for 6 months, had some acupuncture as well. It's not cured it completely but I do my prescribed exercises everyday & am careful waslking the dog if she pulls. I can now get my arm high enough to do my bra up & only suffer the odd twinge now & again just to remind me its still there. For the most part for me the physio has worked. I still go for a physio session now and again & am able to jog again without pain.

I had this in my right shoulder
I had physio from a sports physio involving deep massage, ultrasound and strapping
I was able to have 6 sessions through my employer and then I paid for extra sessions
It resolved with that

exactly this

I cannot undo or do Bra up, but the issue has significantly improved since I had 6 weeks of daily physio. I still do my exercises but have been told this is as good as it gets now

I've got similar , my biceptal groove is empty ( missing bicep!) because my biceps tendon has torn, prolapsed over the subscapularis.
Luckily I have bupa from work, so I've had 8 sessions of physio, did nothing, had an MRI just before Christmas & now waiting to see surgeon on Friday to plan surgery. I also had injection which relieved the pain for about 3 weeks.

I find it hard to dress myself but fasten my bra at the front & shuffle it round!
