I tried and failed to get an SV studio for Christmas 2013 and 2016 (at eleven months). Waitlist never came through. To be honest, given how much busier it’s become at WDW over the last couple of years, even if I had the time or inclination to walk my reservation I highly doubt I’d have enough points to actually do it... people seem to be starting the process well in advance of peak dates.

We are there at Christmas this year too. Have booked my first 10 nights at BWV from 20 December to 30 December now just need to add the last 4 nights at BLT theme park view over NY but am very impatiently and nervously having to wait until my 11 month window opens next week - so annoying!

On another note though I just booked our flights as found a decent price direct with BA to tampa - we are 2 adults, 3 children and was £3.5k total including a big 7 seater car. I was happy with this price for direct as we paid the same for our flights in April and they’re indirect with united\lufthansa!

I got Virgin via Virgin Holidays a couple of months ago for 900 out on 20/12 from MAN. Sounds a lot but was looking at Virgin Atlantic and one way now was over 1k on that date.

Yes all you can do is keep your eyes peeled. Unfortunately from Manchester (albeit I am going Tui from Doncaster in summer) I never pay less than about 900 each direct as I go in school holidays. I get very jealous when I read about all these flight deals from Gatwick etc, particularly outside school hols.
Whilst it’s points heavy, DVC really seems to come into its own over Xmas, no free dining deals and prices for Disney cash stays are through the roof, particularly for 1 beds up.

I know me too - i was looking through the flights on virgin this week for the gold seat ticket (which i did find however not in school hols obvs and didnt fit in with me ) and noticed virgins flight prices are between 390 and 500 for nearly all dates out of school holidays

i feel like sending a letter to richard branson - he is all for family and spending time with family, supporting people etc well put your money where your mouth is because that price hike is extortionate

I accept it is supply and demand and i wouldnt mind paying a little bit higher but its starting to get ridiculous now

Also it got me thinking people complain and moan about people buying and selling concert tickets for more money (which i do not agree with) however concert tickets dont increase in price the more people that buy them if that makes sense.

Anyway i digress i just think the school holiday and non school holiday price gap is getting bigger and bigger and there has also been talk of the school fines being increased to £1000 (not that i think that would happen )

thats my two penneth worth, ha

Stacey the flights I booked are from Gatwick so I’m not sure what the prices are like from Manchester but the Gatwick flights to Orlando with BA were coming in at over £5.5k so a massive saving flying to Tampa!

I think Norwegian had decent prices in December from Manchester I saw on another thread so worth giving them a look!
