Renting DVC points a sensible option?

I’ve started to look at this as an option for our holidays going forward. Can I clarify some things? Can you only rent points 11 months in advance of your date? Even if I went through a 3rd party like Dave’s? Do you get the same 60 day FP benefits?

Yup DVC owners can only make bookings 11 months out so you can’t rent points before then either. David’s DVC work in the same way. You get a booking reference that can be linked on MDE so providing you link tickets too you get the same 60 days

I made my request on David's DVC and paid my deposit around 12 months before. They allow this - I just wanted to be "in the queue", as it were. Right at 11 months, my reservation was confirmed and I paid the balance.
