Should I go ahead and book at this price?
Looking for some advice please as to whether this is a good price for this summer holiday. All direct flights with BA.
LON-SFO 22/07 returning LAX-LON 09/08 for £2,250 (3 adults). LON-SFO 22/07 returning SAN-LON 03/08 for £988 (1 adult). Should I be able to get better or do they look fair prices and I should just book? |

Hi sounds a bit pricey, how long is your trip and what do you plan to do. Flying in and out of same airport, usually LA is a lot cheaper. From there consider a circular route.

We have 18 nights total and want to start to start in SFO (3 nights) so we heading south down PCH where we intend to stop Monterey (2), Santa Monica (2) and then onto San Diego (5). Our eldest son is then coming home early as he cant get any more than 2 weeks off work and from there we intend to come back to LA to do Universal and Disney before we head home. Heading back to SFO would shave £300 off the price but I'm not sure I can be bothered with the 5-6 + hour drive just to save £300.

That seems expensive for flights. We tend to add in a couple of hotels with BA which works out better price wise.

For some reason this year flying in or out of LAX bumps the prices up considerably. We have booked in and out of SFO for that reason but we have 21 nights so breaking the journey up from San Diego to Yosemite with a night in Bakersfield, we then drive over to SFO on our last day. Have you tried pricing a car up with your BA flights? That can work out cheaper too. We have paid £2800 for 3 adults and 1 youth plus a Group D car. This is 17/07-07/08 LHR-DUB-SFO SFO-LHR.
There haven't been the bargains this year that many have got in previous years unfortunately! |
