Would getting an annual Disney pass affect a package deal

If you were going for two seperate 14nt stays in 8 months, firstly would it be a good idea to upgrade to an annual pass, secondly would already having your tickets affect getting free dining within a package deal for the 2nd trip? Thanks.

We upgraded our 14 day ticket to annual pass last June as we were going for a week in November and then added another trip in May this year before it expires. We still had the dining plan for the 1st visit in June but you would need to pay for the tickets to get free DDP as if you upgraded to annual pass you would lose the free DDP on the second trip. We booked the free days offer for November and May's so used this saving towards our food cost plus the saving on annual pass and the discounts in the shops. You will need to work everything out for us 2 we never use all the meals and snacks on the dining plan so we know how much we eat.

Free dining is linked to the purchase of tickets not to purchasing hotel rooms

Free dining is only available as part of a package with hotel and tickets purchased at the same time so you would only be eligible for free dining on the second stay if you bought more tickets which would be a waste of money. A room discount tends not to have to include tickets though.
