Las Vegas without a car? Hotel recommendations with nice pool area for a family?
Hi, we are planning to visit Las Vegas for three days and four nights in August, and also go to the Grand Canyon for one day, as part of a longer road trip.
I have three questions. 1. Can you manage without a car in LV, if you stay in a hotel with a free shuttle service to the airport and Strip? 2. Can you recommend a family and budget friendly hotel in the area with a nice pool area? We are a family of five who would like to share one room. 3. Can you recommend a good tour company that offers day trips to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas by bus/coach? Thanks! Edited at 06:32 PM. |

Hi airport to hotels is a very short trip so jump a taxi. Family how many , have a look at the signature suits at the MGM ,book via airbnb or home away which generally works out much cheaper.

The shuttle and cabs are very cheap from the airport.
For a hotel with a more family vibe look at the Orleans ,rooms are huge, pool area is nice and not clubby like some of the Strip hotels , has cinema and huge bowling centre as well as casino and good choice of places to eat. Just off Strip with a reliable free shuttle every 20 mins. It's where I always stayed with my son when he was a young teen. Edited at 08:11 PM. |

You can easily manage without a car in Vegas. We only get one for the day or two that we venture on a little road trip. Uber/Lyft are about $10 from the airport to the strip. Signature is lovely but not sure about for 5 people? Maybe someone can advise. You can then use MGM pool which is great for kids. Tricky trying to get a good pool for kids and to sleep 5 as most hotel rooms sleep 4.
Will be a very long day for just a day trip to Grand Canyon. How old are your kids? Edited at 08:20 PM. |

We have been twice and its amazing. Most bus trips leave really early...like 6.30 am and dont get back until maybe 7.00pm, or later. It does not give you much time at GC either. Think its only about 3 hours. Would the little one be ok with such a long day? It would be very tiring.

We went last year and booked polo towers, they are next to mgm, they had 1 and 2 bedroom suites, free laundry facilities very floor, fully equipped l
Kitchen living room and dining area, very clean a nd modern. Room tax is minimal compared to big hotels. No smoky casinos which we found quite hard when staying to big hotels, walking through them.
