A week away at Easter

Decided to go away for a week first week of April as the schools are off, not sure where yet. Ideally abroad but after looking it’s really (really) expensive. We’re in Glasgow and our weather is awful just now - need to get away! Any suggestions of places I can look into, UK or abroad. We have a DS6 if that helps. Was looking at Cornwall as it’s somewhere I’ve always fancied but it’s a long way away if the weather isn’t that great.

We managed to get a cheap deal to Tenerife with Thomas cook. It meant taking DS 5 out of school for 2 days.

If weather happens to be good we had a great week in Pembrokeshire so much to do.

Northumberland is our go to place at Easter. We just love it.

We’re going to Salou, flying on Good Friday which is the start of the 2nd week of the local school holidays. I’ve read some trip reports for Salou and Port Aventura and the hotel gets good reviews on TripAdvisor.
I was surprised at how reasonable the price was. It was much, much cheaper than any previous European A/I holidays we’ve been on. We booked through Love Holidays.

We are up in Inverness and the weather has been awful! We are going back down to my home county, East Sussex for the first time in 5 years. I am beside myself with excitement. We’ll be armed with our national trust cards and wellies. Fingers crossed for dry weather! We got an Airbnb in Wadhurst for a great price too.

Duinrell in Wassenaar, Netherlands
Can fly to Schiphol, or ferry it over. Caravan park, beach, free themepark. ( Check opening dates of themepark) fantastic indoor waterpark.

Close to Amsterdam and all sort of interesting places
First time in many years not going at Easter ourselves.

Also Jersey. Flights and accommodation should be reasonable. Fab beaches / laid back vibe.

One other thought is to have a look at flying from a different airport, maybe in England as English Easter holidays are all over the place so it might be a lot cheaper.

That’s exactly what we normally do at Easter, Salou with a few days at Port Aventura. The weather is normally lovely and sunny and we come back with a nice tan. Very reasonably priced normally. 👍🏻

We are off to Pembrokeshire in our caravan. Beautiful coastline, open countryside, fresh air, quiet areas without crowds, castles, pubs and good food, all quite cheap too. I just hope the weather is kind to us 😀

Thanks all! I’ll have a look - now thinking about Spain but lots of suggestions for during the summer. Another issue is that my passport is due to expire in May, don’t have enough time to renew so will this be an issue? I’ve heard a few different stories.
