As an independent I always chose to book short haul with Jet2 over Tui, their service was incredible from the start, I think other operators learnt from them and the majority thankfully followed suit!

EasyJet have a great package holiday option now and are offering a flexible booking policy, there’s some amazing prices to be had fur summer 2022 with free child places. The most notable difference between EJ & Jet2 is that you can’t pre book seats with EJ until around 30 days prior to travel, with Jet2 you can at time of booking.

If you still need to quarantine coming back into the UK then holidays will still be off the table. Jet2 and TUI would not be operating flights to places that require quarantine on the return trip.
Testing or proof of vaccination is probably the way ahead in the short term when non-essential travel resumes so you will need to plan for it as part of the holiday I'm afraid.

Jet2 have been amazing, quick to refund or change dates, we have another booked with them for October to Menorca, feel quite confident that this one will go ahead.

Thanks everyone. I’ve actually booked a fully refundable hotel in Tenerife so have accommodation secured. I can cancel up to 12noon the day before arrival with no charge...it’s a pay at the hotel rate.

Just need flights but I think will wait and see how things pan out, I’ve chosen a date where we have the most flight options so should hopefully be one suitable option, if not we could go further afield for an airport. If you can travel with a vaccination certificate and an exemption for kids and no quarantine that would be fine, I just don’t want the anxiety of tests. I feel happy I have the accommodation booked that I wanted and can wait til nearer the time for the flights 😊

I suspect tests will be compulsory regardless of whether vaccinated or not for most European destinations but hopefully no quarantine

I have done similar to you OP.
And that is because it is rolled over from last year.
I wish I didn't have it. The level of flexibility and protection I have this year for flight only is significantly less. Most years I am extremely happy doing DIY. Not this year.

Flight only T&C's are nowhere near as flexible and there is less option to move or cancel. Plus if there and need to quarantine or test am on my own.

I think personally that getting a fully moveable package is a safer way to go. I wish I could.

My package last year was refunded easily, even though we could've gone. The flights weren't even though we couldn't go. Rollover was the only option. Am not allowed to rollover again. (Tui).

Agree with what everyone has said about Jet2. Have used them as our choice of carrier for most of our short haul holidays and their service has been excellent. Agree with YT as regards flying to the US. That tune was in my head today as it was played at work and for a few mins I could have been getting ready for take off
