Pebble dashed brick wall repairs ?
I've posted before about my friend's house where the pebbledash has huge cracks.
A big chunk fell off last week . The landlord brought in a builder. He (landlord) wanted the builder to just patch it with cement but the builder said it was dangerous and removed a full width on the front wall. It only took 10 minutes as it all more or less crumbled off So my question is what to do to make it look more sightly ? Is it possible to get that grey residue off and just seal it ? Or is brick paint the way to go ? Edited at 05:33 PM. |

Once I get some sensible replies I might change it back again 😂

sounds like the old pebble dash was blown and looking at the picture you posted the render did not have a great key in the first place so was not stuck on very well
you need to ask why was the wall rendered in the first place many poor quality cheap bricks were rendered to try and waterproof the wall so once the render has gone the wall could allow the ingress of water as for cleaning the wall a strong brick acid or something like Sika Concrete Remover may work but it will be hard work and it may not look great when finished. sand blasting or bead blasting would be the best way to clean the brickwork properly or getting the area re rendered after raking out the mortar lines to provide a better key for the render to adhere to the wall |
