Cancer update

Had scans last Friday and saw oncologist this morning followed by chemotherapy.

All good 😌. Lymph nodes very reduced. No cancer to be seen.. one more session in March, reduced by two! Then I have Three monthly scans and reviews... remission was buzz word of the day. Now, obviously I’m living with the fact that the primary cancer May “pop” up at anytime ... but oncologist says with the regular reviews we can get at it as soon as we know... caveat being depending on where.. but he’s confident as am I. I can now learn to live again... just covid to go!

Need to get through this session and the next... hopefully girls can visit soon. Daughter and grandson have booked a flight first week of June... optimistic but £145 for one adult and child, with ability to change dates she’s taken a punt... other daughter planning for September, she has a restaurant so can’t really avoid being there when the rules are relaxed...

So although not quite out of the woods... I’m definitely seeing light through the trees.

Cancer and ones mortality certainly puts life into perspective. I’ve fought every step of the way since starting chemotherapy last October... life is precious , use it wisely, treat it well and fight to keep it

What’s truly amazing and I’m humbled by the fact that my chemotherapy drugs are based on platinum and yew trees! I’m humbled by those who went before me, who underwent trial treatments so I can have longer with my family and I thank the scientists who developed and persevere to seek out these ways of treating diseases. How fortunate we are
