We slept quite well considering the time we went to bed last night.

We were up at 5.00am and taking a leaf out of Lisa and Marie’s book we had our first of two breakfasts of the day.

The first was leftover pizza and garlic bread from Blaze last night. Who knew you needed cheesy garlicky goodness that early in the morning 😂

We got ready and I managed to grab queue number 19 for Tiana’s at 7am.

We then headed to the Magic Kingdom on the 7.14am bus. We queued around 25 minutes for the park to open.

When it did we stopped for a photo on Main Street before heading to Starbucks for our first of the trip.

A strawberry acai refresher for me and a latte for DH.

These came to $12.33.

We headed to the seats outside Casey’s corner and just sat and drank our drinks listening to the music. It was absolute bliss.

We rode Buzz and the people mover before heading to Gaston’s for a creme brûlée croissant to share.

This came to $5.63.

Wow, it was delicious! It was filled with vanilla custard and to top was nice and crunchy. An excellent snack and shareable too.

Next up we headed to Tianas where we walked right onto the ride sitting in the front row and getting absolutely drenched!

We also rode Big Thunder and Haunted mansion before our LL for Tron. Wow that ride is fast! We sat in the seats rather than the bikes and so glad we did it sure we’d have coped leaning down.

The longest we waited all day was 40 minutes for Haunted Mansion and despite not being a party day, it seemed quiet in the park.

When we came off we picked up a Watermelon slishy from the car outside Tron.

This was $6.91 and it was very small for the price. It was tasty and the popping candy right at the bottom was a novelty, but it wasn’t worth the price. A one and done for us.

That’s it for Magic Kingdo today. We did bump into two sets of YouTubers we watch - Ade and Lisa and Sam and Keira - both were happy to have a quick chat and were friendly.

We have made it back to the room and we’re currently hiding out from the rain 🤨

The plan is Vineland outlets for Chinese at the food court, take a look at the character warehouse and then head to Target for supplies.

Total dining credit left - $1171.74

We were planning Texas Roadhouse later but have decided to see what the weather does and if it stays dry we may head to Disney Springs instead.

Will fill you in later.

Thanks for reading 👋
WOW what a good first day apart from the rain, garlic bread for breakfast yummy 🤤
that croissant looks AMAZING, I need to try it 😋😋
We too are sat hiding from the rain & thunder
I said to Dave shall we go to the gym he said no he’s only holiday 🤷🙄
So I’ve just finished my leftover pancake from this morning 🙈before an early dinner
We have done Vineland today too
Enjoy x

What a great start! That slushy looked lovely but I agree it’s a bit expensive for the size.

Hope the weather clears up for you. 🤞🏼

I think I might be the only person who didn't mind the veg lolly on the plane 🤣

We had Blaze in mind for our first night, but actually ended up not that hungry so just shared fries in Eet so we've saved that for later in the holiday.

You've also reminded me that I need to get DH that creme brulee croissant as I'm sure he'll love that 🙂

I don’t think it’s a special, it seemed more popular than the cinnamon roll today.

The creme brulee croissant sounds amazing. I think I could eat my body weight in custard 😆
I know.. I couldn’t quite believe it either, but it was yummy! 😂 Yes, the custard was especially good!

I know, I love a strawberry acai. I purposely haven’t had one in the UK as they aren’t as good but have been saving myself for here!

Well, gym or leftover pancake.. I know which one I’d choose!

I’m fed up of the rain now and have only been here 24 hours. It’s the most rain we have had on any of our 5 trips in the last 10 years 😪

I couldn’t quite believe the speed of Tron and just as I was getting over it, it finished! It’s a great addition to Magic Kingdom. The standby line at midday was 70 minutes.

I don’t think it’s due to, there’s rain forecast every day. Ponchos have been on and off all afternoon 🤨

I think if the veg lolly had been sweeter it might have been ok.

We want to try Eet… definitely recommend Blaze. We also have DLuxe pencilled into our plans for this trip.

100% you must try the croissant, it was great!

Arghhh no we always have rain in September/ October but it’s usually only an hour or two

Hopefully won’t be as bad tomorrow for MNSSHP but we have ponchos ready 💪💪

Day 1, part 2

Good evening! Welcome to part 2 of day 1.

After getting back from Magic Kingdom and showering to go out, we sat in the room and then again in the lobby whilst the rain eased off enough that we wouldn’t get completely soaked even wearing ponchos.

We headed to Vineland outlets and straight to the character warehouse. It was busy but we got straight in.

I picked up some ears for $7.99 and a tshirt for $7.99 as well as a couple of gifts. There were no loungefly sadly which I was hoping to see.

We headed to the food court and Asian Chao for lunch. They were giving out small samples of some chicken.

You could have two mains and a side for $12.99.

DH chose firecracker chicken and veg as his mains and noodles for his sides.

He said the chicken wasn’t very ‘fire cracker’ but it was tasty and he enjoyed it.

I chose double orange chicken and noodles. It wasn’t very tangy or as nice as I remembered, but we were hungry and it filled a hole.

We sat next to a Mexican family of 3. The daughter was around 3 and drinking a bottle of milk, but she cried the whole time we were there. It didn’t really make for a relaxing lunch 🤣

We ordered 2 x spring rolls and a medium Minute Maid lemonade. Medium size was huge, it served us both with some left to take with us.

The total came to $35.12.

Next we headed to TJ Maxx and Ross where we picked up a couple of items family had asked for as well as a couple of gifts.

We ended up at Target where we picked up a 24 pack of desani water, a peach hand soap for the room and some crest teeth whitening strips.

Total came to $28.17. The crest were $19.99 before tax just to give you an idea of the cost of the items. I can’t find to receipt unfortunately.

We came back to the resort (ponchos back on) and had an hours Power Nap.

We could possibly have slept for longer had the alarm not gone off, but knowing we needed to eat and would feel rough if we kept sleeping we showered and caught an Uber to Texas Roadhouse.

It took around 15 minutes for our table to be ready and we sat outside chatting about our day.

Once seated we were given a booth for two opposite the bar.

Here’s the menu -

And the drinks menu -

DH had a Blue Moon and had a second during our meal. I had a strawberry lemonade and thanks to our attentive server, I had three during the course of the meal as well as one to go.

The strawberry lemonade was so good. It wasn’t fizzy, it was really refreshing and quite light.

We were given warm bread rolls when we sat down which were so delicious. DH said he thought they tasted like hot cross buns. They were very moreish. We could have ordered more if we wanted.

We both ordered 12oz rib eye, DH had corn and fries with bacon and cheese with his and I had Caesar salad and a baked potato.

We waited around 15/20 minutes for our food. When it came out the plates were hot and so was the food.

The steaks were absolutely delicious, really juicy, tender and flavoursome.

The salad and jacket felt healthy accompanied by the steak. I was pleased with my choice.

We both really enjoyed our meals. We were given a voucher for a free appetiser if we return, so we’ll see how we get on during the course of the trip.

Total came to $74.51 and we left 20% tip making our bill $89.41.

We caught a Lyft back to the resort. Uber was cheaper on the way out, Lyft on the way back. There was around $10 difference between the two both trips.

DH popped back to the room for our resort mugs and I popped into the shop and picked up the POFQ pin.

Overall a really great first day. We got a lot done at Magic Kingdom and got to try a couple of items on my list.

We also ‘ticked off’ the orange chicken and Texas from our lists too.

Tomorrow we have Animal Kingdom and our first time using both LLMP and standby skipper so I’m interested to see how many LL we can do.

We plan to eat in Yak and Yeti and have a free evening tomorrow with DLuxe burger pencilled in.

Credit remaining - $1153.65

Step count - 18,096

Thanks for reading 👋

Sorry for any typos… it’s 10.57pm which I think for day 1 is good going but I’m now too tired to proof read it!

What a great start to your trip you have had quite a busy first day. Love the leftover pizza for breakfast! I still dream about that creme brûlée croissant it was so good 💛 I was a bit disappointed everyone else thought so too as I didn’t get to eat as much as I wanted 😆
A lovely day at MK, shopping and a great meal at Texas Roadhouse. I hope it doesn’t rain as much tomorrow!
