You have managed so much on your first day! The queue was huge at the Character Warehouse when we were there, how fab to have a short wait and to also pick up some bargains. Lunch looked hearty but those food courts are noisy! A shame about the rain but dinner was worth the effort, the steaks look lovely and you can’t beat a good salad! 😋 xx

Ooo, your steak meals look delicious - I like the look of the loaded fries! I love a strawberry lemonade too, yum.
Well done on staying up so late. You'll have really adjusted to the time zone now and hopefully be able to enjoy long, fun days!

Day 2, part 1
We woke up intermittently throughout the night and finally got out of bed at 7.15am to get ready for Animal Kingdom.
We had bought LLMP and Standby Skipper and planned on using both today. We had LL for Safari, Navi River and Dinosaur and an individual pass for FOP. We headed for Safari via the shops as I wanted some leopard print ears. They don’t sell the ‘classic’ ones anymore, but had a deal on some Loungefly ones, buy anything in the shop and get the ears for $15! There was a bakery attached to the shop so we picked up the most delicious chocolate chip cookie and I was the proud owner of my first pair of loungefly ears. Total for the ears and the cookie $21.29. A total steel (the ears alone were $40) and the cookie was absolutely amazing! So amazing in fact I went back and bought our dog sitter the same pair of ears and got the same cookie again! After a great safari we stopped at Starbucks for breakfast. We ordered medium strawberry acai and caramel frappe, a croissant for me and a sausage, cheese and egg muffin for DH. Total came to $22.22. My strawberry acai wasn’t as nice as the one I had in Magic Kingdom yesterday for some reason. I got a large one there wonder if that’s the difference? We both enjoyed our breakfast and headed on around to Pandora after where we rode Navi river and FOP. After FOP I picked up a night blossom from Pongu Pongu for $7.23. This was just as good as I remembered it. I drank most of it sitting near the stall but took the last little bit towards Its tough to be a bug where we got chatting to a lady who had English heritage and had a service dog called Max with her. She complimented my backpack and we got talking from there. She was in the parks on her own and I think she just wanted to speak to someone for a while. She lived in Orlando and visited the parks regularly. Anyway, after it’s tough to be a bug we rode Dinosaur (maybe for the last time 🥲 and then headed to Yak and Yeti for lunch. We had our Landry card and was told the table would be around 10-15 minutes, everyone else was told 35 minutes at check in. We were seated after 15 minutes upstairs next to the staircase. This is the menu - And the specials - I ordered my first cocktail of the trip a strawberry daiquiri plus a passion fruit Shanghai lemonade. DH went for the 22oz safari ale. The daiquiri wasn’t very alcoholic at all, in fact I could taste no alcohol in it. The Shanghai lemonade was lovely, quite sweet but refreshing. The waitress brought over the wrong drink for DH (she realised before she put it down) so took it away and got the one he ordered. He enjoyed it and it was a good size for him not needing two pints. To eat we ordered the pot stickers to start with, I went for the Korean beef with chicken fried rice and DH went for the firecracker shrimp from the starters and added the garlic noodles to it. The pot stickers actually came out a few minutes before our drinks. They weren’t piping hot so we started them. They had a good flavour to them. We both really loved our respective mains. By the time I got to the end of mine my mouth was on fire. DH loved his shrimp too and with the slaw with it, he said it was really tasty. The total came to $77.69 with $25 birthday reward discount taken off. We had purchased $100 gift card so used that to pay for the meal and we left $20 cash tip. We headed out of the park via the shops where I picked up a spirit jersey and a sweater using our credit. We got to the bus station and there was a POFQ bus just loading - great timing! On the drive back the bus stopped in the middle of the road as did the car next to us because there was a turtle in the road. The woman in the car next to us got out and moved it out of the road 🩷 Back at the resort we decided it was time to try the goulish beignets. Total came to $10.11 for 3 beignets. They were warm and delicious and the topping and frosting wasn’t overly sweet. Would definitely recommend them! We got back to our room and mousekeeping had been in and created this… I’m not sure how I feel when they move your stuff around, but it was cute. They were probably very pleased with the tip we left them. During the course of the day as we scanned in for our LLMP, I had Standby Skipper search for Remy’s, Frozen and Soarin at Epcot as we decided after having a large lunch we would snack around the world for tea. Our first LLP is Soarin from 6.30pm to 7.30pm the Remy’s and Frozen follow. We’re back in the room right now, DH is snoring away next to me. I’m going to try to have an hour then have a shower before heading to Epcot tonight. Thanks for reading everyone! Credit remaining - $927.76.

Thank you! We haven’t seen any rain so far today… Hope it doesn’t come tonight as I know Claire is going MNSSHP.
Yes I couldn’t believe we walked straight in! There was a queue when we came out. I heard someone on the plane saying the re-stocked Wednesday morning so we may visit after breakfast tomorrow. The steak and salad were delicious! We got loads done today too and have stacked some LLMP for tonight at Epcot. I always read people not recommending LLMP at AK but we bypassed some pretty long waits today. Weather has been good to us all day; I’m hoping it’s dry for you tonight. Hope you have a fab time! Had another busy day and about to have a nap to feel re- energised for tonight. The steak was honestly delicious. The strawberry lemonade was honestly so good! DH said his loaded fries were too. I can’t believe how fast yesterday went we didn’t get a minute to stop really. The days are flying by, nearly our third evening here already! |

A great day. I love your new ears. Yak and yeti looked so tasty. Love a daiquiri and the margarita shakers look great - I’d have to stop myself from buying one.

What a bargain those ears were!
Housekeeping did something similar with Marie’s ears but only one pair so nothing like your display 😂. |
