Oh no, not good to have lukewarm food at that expense 😳 you can at least say you've done it I guess. Hope you are feeling better now and it doesn't impact on your discovery cove day 🙏

It’s definitely a hit or miss kind of place… food at Discovery Cove was ok. Plan for tonight is Disney Springs 👍🏻 Thanks for reading and commenting 😊
Yes the cocktail was great after I’d taken that initial first strong sip! 😂 I think that’s exactly it, I wanted to try it and if it wasn’t this trip it would be another so it’s out of my system now 👍🏻 We loved our breakfast and again would never have tried it if it wasn’t for reading the Dibb. My stomach is much better today, thank you! Glad you had a good experience, think you hit the nail on the head about it going one of two ways. I can’t believe your week is over already, it’s gone so fast this week! Hope you have a safe flight home and thanks for following along ☺️ Yes, it’s out of my system now. Definitely won’t be going back! Hope you have had a good day! We can’t have been the only ones served luke warm food either so they are getting away with it across the board but charging a premium. I feel much better today thank you! |

Day 6, part 1
Discovery cove day!
We arrived around 8am and joined the fairly long queue to check in. I’d done my research and knew we wanted to sit in the area off the bridge so when checking in I asked the cast member what time the bridge opened, he told me 9.15am. We headed for breakfast and was quite surprised there wasn’t a massive queue and the food all looked pretty decent. I chose two waffles with syrup, a pastry, some milk and an OJ. DH went for a cooked breakfast with the addition of fried chicken and a banana. We both really enjoyed our breakfasts. Thankfully I was feeling much better after having stomach ache most of the night. I actually felt hungry this morning so was pleased to have some breakfast. We headed over to the bridge at 9am with the intention of queuing for 15 minutes only to find it was already open. When we got to the beach all the umbrellas were already taken. We decided to walk around the park to see if we could grab one but at that point they were all taken. In the end through the course of the day we moved places 4 times trying to find shade by sitting under trees. After lunch we managed to get two loungers underneath an umbrella after someone left. There were various snacks on offer including crisps, nuts, pizza slices, cookies, pretzels, ice cream and frozen drinks. We didn’t buy the premium package so could have soft drinks, wine or a small selection of beers included in our day pass. I picked up DH a coors light as well as a slice of pizza and a bag of crisps as a mid morning snack. I had a Minute Maid lemonade and a frozen mango drink. We headed for lunch around 1pm. There was a big queue on the right hand station for food but no one on the left. They had a good choice of meat, fish and salads. I chose (another) Caesar salad, with chicken tenders and a bowl of rice. DH had tenders and fries with a portion of Salmon and Mac and cheese. Lunch was quite a traumatic experience for me as I have a phobia of birds and there were loads of the bit white ones with long beards wandering around. There were a couple at breakfast but not near us so I was fine, but at lunch time they seemed to be getting braver and they were jumping up on tables and at one point seemed to be all around us. I had a mild panic and switched tables at one point when DH went to the toilet as they were all around me. I enjoyed my food, I ate half of the salad, most of the rice and a couple or bits from one of the tenders, but left the rest as I felt so uncomfortable. DH enjoyed his food, he said he doesnt ‘get’ mac and cheese but enjoyed his tenders and salmon. I felt much better when I was back at the loungers, despite some birds meandering around they were far enough away from me to feel ok. I picked myself up a vanilla soft serve as a dessert. This was really lovely. After deciding we had had enough sun, we packed up and I drove us back to the hotel at DH had had a coors light. We picked up another portion of the goulash beignets (yummy) and refilled our mugs whilst putting a load of washing on. I didn’t used to get people doing laundry whilst away but it only takes 30 minutes and is pretty much dry (especially the smaller items) when coming out of the machine so the thought of going home with clean clothes is very appealing! We pack our summer clothes away in storage and wash them all fresh for the new season so it won’t matter they have ‘travelled’ from here to home. Anyway, enough of the laundry chat. The beignets were $10.11 and warm and delicious! We have $388.46 left on our dining cards plus our $200 gift card. Steps so far today - 5,652 (will be more we counting on my phone which I haven’t been carrying with me today) We had originally booked (free) tickets to the Promedade tonight but we think we may catch the boat to Disney Springs. I’d like to try Eet but DH is keen to have another Blaze pizza. Whatever we do I’d really like to try Salt and Straw and also Gideon’s. I’ll update later what we end up doing. Thanks to those who are reading along and especially those who are commenting. I really appreciate it! |

We ate at Ohana last week. We are fans and usually do it each trip.
As always the food was plentiful and really tasty. We all hate the bread until it’s desert 😂 I do agree it’s very expensive though |

Sounds like you had a great day at DC (except for the birds). Those ghoulish beignets look very tasty, that was one of my favourite things about staying at POFQ! Xx

Pleased you were feeling better and able to enjoy DC even with the birds-I don’t mind them but it’s a pain when you are eating and being stalked 😮
I think it would be wrong not to indulge in the beignets when you are at POFQ, I lived getting them for breakfast or an afternoon treat…the Ghoulish ones really look delicious 😍 |
