Glad you felt better for your DC day! Bit of a bummer no umbrellas left though, shame they don't think to add more 🤔 food looked pretty decent so hopefully it compensated! I really hope you get to try Eet, even if just for a snack.. 😉 have a good day!

That’s disappointing about the umbrellas at DC. It’s somewhere you go to relax so you don’t want to have to be queuing or rushing round the park. I know we’d prefer to have somewhere in the shade to sit.

DC looked good all the yummy food especially the ice creams, sorry about those birds they love to hover around for food, reminds me when we went to Gatorland & got hot dogs to feed the gators & a bird swooped down to get them & our eldest son ran away & dropped the lot 🤷🙈
Glad you’re feeling better now 😍x |

Day 6, part 2
We were heading to Disney Springs for our evening and just managed to get onto the boat before the rain came. The plan was with Eet or Blaze pizza.
Neither of us were particularly hungry when we arrived, so we decided to have a walk around and if we could try to have a drink somewhere to build up an appetite. We had completely forgotten it was a Saturday evening and Disney springs was absolutely heaving! With no luck getting a drink we carried on walking around coming across Gideon’s. When we joined the line one cast member told us it would be 45 and another told us 55, but in reality we only queued for 25 minutes and it was quite a pleasant queue as there was live music at Raglan Road. We were given September’s menu whilst we queued - Once we got inside there was an overwhelming smell of sweetness, but once you got used to it, it was ok. Some photos of the inside - We ordered a peanut butter cookie and a chocolate chip one. I can’t find the receipt but we paid with our dining credit and I think it was just over $12 for the two. I will include them in the report when we eat them. By the time was came out it was raining again and there was the most spectacular sky with thunder and lightning. After checking the weather app it said we were due 7mm of rain so we decided to head back to the resort and either pick dinner up in our quick service or order Uber eats. It took quite a while to get back to the resort as a POFQ bus had broken down with passengers on it leaving Disney springs so they unloaded onto the bus that came for us and we had to wait for another. By the time we got back we decided to eat at the hotel. Day chose the beef in gravy with mash and green beans and I had chicken sandwich and fries. The amount of fries I had was ridiculous! I shared more than half with DH so that he could mop up his gravy. He really enjoyed his dinner, stating it was like comfort food. My chicken sandwich was ok, it wasn’t going to win any awards but filled a (small) hole. Total came to $29.27. We headed back to the room and it was around 10pm so we watched some tv in bed as we had to be up for Keys to the Kingdom on day 7. Thanks for reading! |

Day 7, part 1
Hello and how on earth is it day 7 already?!
We had Keys to the Kingdom booked today for 9.30am. We caught the bus to Magic Kingdom at around 8am and by the time we arrived were let straight into Magic Kingdom. We had some photo pass photos taken and I picked up a couple of T-shirts then we headed to Starbucks for breakfast. I had a large Strawberry acai and a croissant. DH wanted a banana but they had no fruit at all so he just had a latte. Total came to $16.58. The croissant was warm and lovely and the acai refresher was delicious as usual. We checked into KTTK around 9.05pm and were given this menu and asked to choose our meal and drink - I’d completely forgotten when we ate at Columbia Harbour House the other day we would also be eating here today. We chose the same dishe, a shrimp sandwich for DH and chicken tenders for me. We were given a bottle of water each then there were spares so we ended up with two each. We both found the tour excellent. Our guide Melissa was entertaining and very open to us asking questions. As Jungle Cruise is closed we went on Tiki Room and Haunted Mansion. We went backstage and saw the floats and under ground and through the utiladoors (maybe spelt wrong) and through the costume department where we got given a little sample of an iridescent costume - We were given toilet breaks around once an hour and stopped for 30 minutes at Columbia Harbour House for lunch in a roped off area upstairs. We meals were already set out for us and we were sat on a shared table. As well as our meal we were given two decorated Oreo’s in a box - We were given little card with a pin on at the end of the tour. I’d highly recommend the tour. It doesn’t spoil the magic and was so interesting to see behind the scenes. The tour was 5 hours total including the toilet and lunch breaks. After it finished we decided to pick up two cooking towels and head to get a dole whip since we hadn’t had one yet. I chose the dole whip float mixed and DH had the Halloween dole whip. Total came to $15.21. I waited for them whilst DH picked up spoons and napkins. By the time I got to the trash can where DH was waiting his had melted down my fingers meaning I tried some of his - to me it was disgusting! I did not like the chamoy on it at all. DH wasn’t too keen either, but ate most of it not wanting to waste it. We decided to leave Magic Kingdom and had originally planned on heading to Typhoon Lagoon for the afternoon but we didn’t get back to the hotel until 3.40pm so decided to head to the pool instead. DH ate his peanut butter cookie from Gideon’s whilst I was on FaceTime to my parents and didn’t take a photo unfortunately. I could tell he liked it as his eyes lit up when he took the first bite. He said it wasn’t a strong peanut flavour even though it appeared to me to be covered in peanuts! I opened mine up and tried 3 or 4 bites. I thought it was ok - it has a very strong chocolate flavour rather than biscuit flavour. I liked the taste of salt with it, but have to say the best cookie I’ve had so far here has been from Animal Kingdom, the one I picked up to get my $15 ears. Here’s the Gideon’s one - That’s it for now. We have been to the pool and are just chilling in the room for an hour before getting ready for our evening out. We are heading to Cheesecake Factory tonight. If we finish early enough and it’s not raining we may pop over to Disney Springs again as I really want to try Salt and Straw. Remaining credit - $219.37 Steps so far today - 11,545 Thanks so much for reading! |

Yes the birds were pretty annoying, I think even if you didn’t have a phobia to them! The beignets are sooo good!
I was surprised at the lack of share in Discovery Cove, no air conditioning and very few shady areas, but I guess they rely on people being in the water a lot? I really want to try Eet but we’re quickly running out of days! Yes, it was a bummer we thought we were queuing up 15 minutes early when they had already opened the bridge and all the umbrellas had gone as it meant by the time we got elsewhere there were none left anywhere in the park. Oh gosh the Gatorland experience would have traumatised me for life! Hope you are ok and not too jet lagged! |

KTTK sounds great and I always think those decorated Oreo’s look so pretty!
I also enjoy the salt on a Gideon’s. I highly recommend the sea salt with caramel ribbons if you head to salt & straw 😋😋😋
