KTTK tour sounds like a great day and the cookies queue didn’t seem too bad either. I would have probably picked the peanut butter one so it seems like a good choice, I hope you get to sample your ice cream at DS one night!
Your meal at Cheesecake Factory sounds good, they never bothered to bring us any bread this time, the portions are always massive and normally I can’t fit in the cheesecake. I shared the Key Lime cheesecake which was amazing so our visit was worth it just for that!
I hope the cold isn’t too bad and you manage to still enjoy your day at HS. Happy Birthday 🎂

Day 8

Hello from the fantasmic theatre! It’s 7.30pm here which means it’s officially my 40th birthday UK time 🥳

It’s been a day full of Dibb recommendations today.

We started off with breakfast at Denny’s after Claire’s recommendation that they were the best pancakes.

Here’s the menu -

We started off with an OJ and a coffee. DH had two during breakfast. I loved the mug.

DH ordered the all American breakfast with toast and I had the unlimited buttermilk pancakes.

The food and drinks both came out extremely quickly, but the breakfast was hot and tasty.

I have to say Claire, the pancakes were delicious! Thank you for the recommendation and Happy Birthday to you too!

I’d almost finished my third pancake when the waitress brought over another two! I know they were unlimited but I had assumed she would ask if I wanted more before bringing them as I really didn’t want more!

I asked for a to go box which she brought over no issues also asking if I want syrup to go too.

The bill was $27.98 or $33.58 with tip.

Next we headed to Walmart so I could pick up some echinacea and cough syrup. We also picked up some crisps / snacks and sweets to take home, as well as a birthday cake, some blow up 4 0 balloons and candles and I picked up a sweater dress.

Total was $88.85.

Here’s our haul of food items less the cake -

We didn’t have to be at Hollywood Studios until 1.40pm to 2.40pm for our LLMP so I suggested to DH we catch the boat to Disney Springs then catch a bus to a skyliner resort and skyliner to HS.

That plan worked out perfectly as it meant we got to try both Eet and Salt and Straw and we got to see a snippet of Caribbean beach before making it in time to HS.

Eet wasn’t too busy at all. The server behind the till was helpful and let DH try the two draft beers before he decided which one he wanted.

We went for the poutine, DH had an IPA and I had a watermelon frozen cocktail.

Total came to $50 including tip. I didn’t leave the recommended 18%-20% as I just rounded our bill up to $50 which did seem expensive for what we had but we both really enjoyed it so didn’t mind.

The poutine was really tasty, it was nice to have some Indian flavour. My drink however was amazing and the star of the show! I couldn’t taste alcohol in it and couldn’t see it on any menu so not sure what was exactly meant to be in in, but it was really good!

Once we were finished at Eet we walked around to Salt and Straw calling into Summerhouse to confirm our reservation for tomorrow.

They had the regular menu at S&S plus a special Apple menu -

I decided to have the salted caramel on Amber’s recommendation but asked to try the honey lavender and strawberry and black pepper to see which second flavour I wanted.

The lavender was too strong of a flavour for me so I chose the strawberry which was lovely and had a really strong and fresh strawberry flavour.

DH chose the peanut and coffee.

He started his whilst I was paying so apologies for the photo! He said the peanut was a really strong flavour but enjoyed them both.

I really enjoyed both of mine too. The salted caramel was really creamy.

Total came to $17.04.

We walked to the bus station and the first skyliner resort bus to arrive was Caribbean beach so we caught that.

When we arrived at Hollywood Studios we picked up a Starbucks. An acai refresher for me and just an iced water for DH.

Total $6.70.

We had a productive afternoon at Hollywood Studios doing Indiana Jones, Slinky Dog, RoTR, Mickey and Minnie’s and Toy Story Mania. Standby Skipper could have booked us Tower of Terror, Smugglers Run and Rock but we don’t ride any of those so skipped them.

We had a frozen lemonade cup whilst watching Indiana - I don’t have the receipt but it was $6.25. It took ages to eat and we shared it so it was good value.

When going through Galaxy’s Edge we picked up a green milk which was on my to try list. I’m sure when I added it I’d made a mental note it was limey, but it was anything but. We both took one sip and binned it.

Total waste of $9.57 we literally may as well have thrown $10 into the bin.

Do not recommend!

For tea we mobile ordered from Woody’s lunchbox.

We did this in the queue for Slinky and by the time we got off it was ready. We bypassed a huge queue.

DH had the brisket sandwich with barrels and a can of blue moon. I had the kids cheese sandwich with soup and barrels and a Diet Coke.

Total for both $32.24.

They have closed off some seating at Woody’s and have set up some tables near the area Galaxy’s edge and Toy Story Land meet so we went and sat there.

We both really enjoyed our meals. DH said there was plenty of brisket on his sandwich. We shared my soup to dip our barrels and sandwiches in and it was just enough for both of us.

The kids meal was really great value for what you got a was just enough for me as I was leaving room for a num num!

We asked at one of the guest experience tents about Fantasmic and were told the queue opened at 7pm for the 8.30pm show. We got into line at 6.45pm after picking up a strawberry slush and num num cookie for $12.55.

The slushy was really tasty, not as strong of a taste as the one I liked in Magic Kingdom, but still good.

The num num is safely tucked away in my bag at the moment.

Rain has threatened as we have had our ponchos on and off once already with 20 minutes still to go before the show starts.

I think that’s probably all for this evening. DH has given me instructions to pick up my mug from our room and sit in the lobby whilst he decorates our room 🥰 Bless him.

Total credit left - $91.27.

Steps so far (we still have to exit HS and get back to our hotel) - 16.682.

Tomorrow we have a reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe at 10.15am and Summer House on the Lake tomorrow evening.

I’m going to tuck into my cookie in anticipation of what I’ve heard is the best show in Disney - this is my 7th trip and I’ve never seen it!

Thanks for reading everyone!

Yes it was a great day yesterday with the tour and the food. I finally got my ice cream days! My cold is bearing up, will take some more echinacea and cough syrup when we get back to the room. Thank you!

What a fabulous day! 😍

I love that poutine at Eet and omg, your drink sounds so good - that little elephant topper is absolutely adorable! I’ll put that one on my list, I hope they still have it later this year.

So glad you enjoyed Salt & Straw. I firmly think it’s the best ice cream ever. 😂

I hope you have a wonderful birthday! 🥳 I love both the Grand Floridian Cafe and Summer House on the Lake so I think you are in for a perfect day. 🤩💕🥰🍰

I don’t think the drink in Eet was seasonal so hopefully they will have it for you.

Thank you!

You’re awake early morning - hope you are ok?

I have seen two green milk photos recently and they have both looked yellow rather than the lime green colour I recall. I don’t mind it, but I think they should think a bit more about the flavour than the gimmick!

How was Fantasmic? I have never been either, keep saying this trip but never get around to it. I also am unlikely to if I have to start queuing 90 minutes before it starts!

Hope you have a lovely 40th today! 🥳

A great food day starting off with yummy Denny pancakes. The kids meals at Woodys are fab value and you just miss out on half a sandwich but you get the drink and a second side so it seems like a great choice to me. I hope you enjoyed your num num and fingers crossed Fantasmic wasn't affected by rain. I love that show!

Happy birthday 🎂 for today. It sounds like it will be a special day.
