Yeah that’s pretty much what I got. Shame Merlin can’t do better given that theme parks around the world and uk can manage it. As you say, it’s a bare minimum offering to stay the do it but the reality is it’s not working.

Excited about Disney

I can’t disagree that the lines were short for RAP access, we didn’t ever have more than 1 party in front of us and more often were the only party. The biggest issue we had is that we were a party of 6 and they would flat out not accommodate us in any way - so their stance that it offers ‘a magical and seamless experience with their loved ones’ is ridiculous. Plenty of families have more than 4 people, so if you have 3 children then you can never enjoy the park together as a family. In a society where ‘family’ can mean many things I just feel that this max 4 rule is completely short sighted.

This is exactly the same impression we are getting with DAS, they see it as a way to exploit people and make more money by pushing you to the paid alternatives! They know that a large percentage of those who need extra assistance but don’t “qualify” will feel they have no choice but to pay.
Frankly it’s disgusting and they clearly haven’t taken advice from “accessibility experts” and simply asked their accountants how they can make more money. We are voting with our feet now and probably not going to Disney again unless they change their DAS criteria. Same with Alton Towers, now we know this system is in place we won’t be visiting and hopefully once they notice a drop in foot fall they’ll do the right thing and stop exploiting the most vulnerable
