Thank you for your email, I hope you are well.

There has been a significant increase in the number of people who use the Ride Access Pass system, which has resulted in longer wait times for those who need this adjustment. To address this, we reviewed feedback from guests and consulted with accessibility experts, as well as looked at what is working at other attractions, to find a more fit-for-purpose alternative. The pre-booking reservation system was introduced earlier this season to help manage the flow of visitors and to ensure queuing time is kept to a minimum, so our guests have the most magical and seamless experience with their loved ones. We do believe that this will benefit many during their time here at the park.

I apologise for any frustration caused by the new system, but sadly there is nothing we can do and all guests will have to pre-book.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please do let me know. We wish you all the best.

They are not interested in Changing the new system as it means more people are paying to skip the lines - that’s the alternative they offer on the day to people who didn’t book/couldn’t get a rap slot
Yeah that’s pretty much what I got. Shame Merlin can’t do better given that theme parks around the world and uk can manage it. As you say, it’s a bare minimum offering to stay the do it but the reality is it’s not working.

I can’t disagree that the lines were short for RAP access, we didn’t ever have more than 1 party in front of us and more often were the only party. The biggest issue we had is that we were a party of 6 and they would flat out not accommodate us in any way - so their stance that it offers ‘a magical and seamless experience with their loved ones’ is ridiculous. Plenty of families have more than 4 people, so if you have 3 children then you can never enjoy the park together as a family. In a society where ‘family’ can mean many things I just feel that this max 4 rule is completely short sighted.

This is exactly the same impression we are getting with DAS, they see it as a way to exploit people and make more money by pushing you to the paid alternatives! They know that a large percentage of those who need extra assistance but don’t “qualify” will feel they have no choice but to pay.

Frankly it’s disgusting and they clearly haven’t taken advice from “accessibility experts” and simply asked their accountants how they can make more money.

We are voting with our feet now and probably not going to Disney again unless they change their DAS criteria. Same with Alton Towers, now we know this system is in place we won’t be visiting and hopefully once they notice a drop in foot fall they’ll do the right thing and stop exploiting the most vulnerable
